Loved the PC version (at least until the point Im at), agree that visually its a lot less impressive though, the framerate seems low (30fps?) and whilst it looks alright its not as accomplished looking as how the other PC port COD2 seems to be. I imagine its fun in multiplayer.

Fun game online , single player sucks . So gald I didn't get this game
The Q4 demo ran a solid 60fps on my PC, and that was at 1680x1050 res with everything on max. I have a 3ghz P4 with a 6800 GT.

The 360 version runs at 20-30fps mostly, and only at 1280x720 res. The 360's tripple core 3ghz PPC CPU and Xenos GPU are enormously quicker than the components I have in my PC.

It's an abysmally poor port. Look at Call of Duty 2 on 360. Solid 60fps there, but on my PC I'm struggling to hit 20fps most of the time.

That's really nice you posted those figures. They really did do a stinky job!

I wonder if all the graphics stuff was just given to do by the triple CPU in software!

But then if you don't supply the dev kit early enough, then I guess this is the price you pay.

Yeah I know what you mean, Call of duty ran like a dog at the same settings as Quake 4 on my laptop. Although maybe 1920*1200 res is a tad high for call of duty 2

King Kong demo would be awesome. I'm so tempted to buy this game, but I just can't financially justify blind-buying 360 games.

King Kong is pleasant enough. Quite original for an FPS and Ubi did a decent job of enhancing the visuals for the 360. It shows it's PS2 origins sometimes which is rather unpleasant but by and large it doesn't disgrace itself too much. That said it's only 30fps with no anti-aliasing, and there's a fair bit of slow down too. Peter Moore's claims at E3 that 360 would be the end of the jaggie really do seem like nonsense now.

The game is short though and quite repetetive as well as completely linear. You could try the PC demo but I thought that was terrible and doesn't do the full game any justice. (especially as the PC version for some bizarre reason uses all the PS2 assets, so it looks absolutely terrible)

Just tried Q4 demo and didn't think it was as bad as people have been saying - didn't think the framerate was *too* bad - very hard to play on the joypad though, much better suited to keyb/mouse....

Was worth downloading just to see the intro, 42" of HD lovelyness!

can we please have a thread that covers all availability of demo's on the marketplace?

Is that really necessary? Demo's don't get added that often, so hardly like we have hundreds of threads about them - there's only 2 active at the minute....

The Ridge extras are there, only the movie trailers aren't on the EU marketplace.

Tip: the marketplace only goes by the country the gamertag was set up with; you can get US / JP only downloads by setting up a free silver account for each.

not sure what the demo is based on (which levels - prestrogg or after) but the framerate really takes a major hit in the latter half of the game rather than the opening levels.

i'd say so,yes. How do you know if demo's get added often? the 360 has'nt even been out for 4 weeks yet! they've released 3 playable demo's in the past 3 weeks(FIFA,Condemned,Quake 4).1 a week is often enough for me.

It would just be nice to have a thread that informs people of the latest available demo's in the marketplace.Seeing as the dashboard does'nt notify you of these updates, and there's gonna be alot more demo's uploaded in the future with Full Auto going live anytime now.

                                Makes perfect sense to me
