I have watched the videos very closely now all i can say is I WANT THIS GAME.
judging by the videos think rei is the most used character.
Shame really i would have liked to have seen all the characters in action.

Are there two versions of toki or is just a colour change? (one looked like the healthy version and the other looked like when he got radiation poisoning)

Fatal KOs i think look pretty decent.They cannot be used until later in the match.Plus they do not appear to give a unfair advantage.

Yes. Currently very much in demand so the rom alone sells for a grand. Give it a few months. KOF XI was similarly priced about 2-3 months ago but you can get it for a third of that now. That's the way arcade games work.

Very much enjoying KOF by the way. My only complaints are the low res sprites (no surprise there) and the slightly off difficulty curve. Apart from that it has a unique roster of characters, many great simple tweaks to the 2003 style system, gorgeous backgrounds and presentation. Waaay better than Neowave.

I often see for sale rom only or rom + board.Will one board work with multiple games or is it specific for the game?.

Its amazing how quickly the price drops for games.

Yes i anticipated that the backgrounds would look great. Shame about the sprites - typical snkplaymore recycling and reusing sprites. Hgh res backgrounds and low res sprites dont mix - but i'd rather have well animated even pixelly sprites than low animated high res characters a l a GG and FOTNS

Eastyy - a motherboard is compatible with all carts but iirc if you swap carts you lose game progress on the first cart.

Games are region free, any cart will work with any board, and all boards have an English option in the service menu too.
As far as I'm aware Sammy still only supply kits with motherboard, not cart/rom only kits, but sellers often split them up.
It's also worth noting that save data is erased every time you change carts. I know someone who has one mobo per game so can save scores and has a chance at unlocking time locked characters etc.

RF2 is superb. A bit of a lazy sequel with a few rehashed backgrounds etc but it's the first game tweaked to perfection. Faster, more refined, with really good new characters and it looks prettier too (higher detail bg's, more "parts crush"). Genuinely one of the best games on the system imo and you can pick it up with mobo for around ?200.

Reason i ask is i have the ps2 original version.

I had heard the ps2 version had a character from the sequel

The PS2 version is a very good conversion but RF2 is much nicer. If it ever makes it to PS2 it's well worth an upgrade.

Just downloaded a few of those samurai shodown vids.

That looks pretty decent Some of those back grounds look very good.

Also seen a few decent combos (always thought samurai shodown lacked decent combos)

JoJos' Bizarre Adventure matches

I know what JoJo is about although not reading any of the manga but i do remember seeing this game fot DC but never picking it up. From those matches i may just need to track down a copy, it looks insane!!

80+ combo's!! You rown character getting beheaded by his own stand and then it returning resurrection stlye! and that's the guy opening animation >_< I love the Stands, they look proper nasty, especially the guy with unnerving laugh with the little red thing. *Brrr*

For a kick about it looks great if only for the SA finishes with a manga image of the guys head flying off XD
