    Countering in DOA4

Hi my USA DOA4 came today and I find it hard but not as hard as some make it out to be.

I've completed it with Bruce Lee and the Ninjisu dude so far but I find first hit wins in this game.
Who ever gets the first move in either computer or palyer they win simply because once they start the combos you can not block or counter... well I guess you can btu how the heck is it done?

Soon as someone gets one move it might as well put the pad down and watch your self get anal raped.

How do we do a counter or a block while getting pummpled by 50 fists at one go?

The manual says X + a direction but that does sweet fa ...

Any advice as this game is getting pretty boring already where its just first move wins and then jus tap punch **** laods to win.....

I also don't think its no where near as good graphics as everyone made out to be.. maybe its just me but it seems like xbox graphics on shoul calibur 2 when I played it at a LAN.

There's a sparring mode & a manual that comes with the game. 5 minutes of your time will glean all the info you need

    You sound awfully impatient !

    Ach **** it feeling generous

    It's the free/block button combined with away, up&away or down&away but mid-kicks require forward & free/block

Seriously go try the "exercise" option in the sparring mode it's an invaluable tool.

      Thanks for fast reply.

I read the manual about 10 times over the controls are explained lousy and it says X + a direction to counter high, low etc moves yet none of this seems to work.

Yep cos they config'd the buttons wrong for a pad - Been playing with the stick so hadn't noticed till last night how stupid the layout is !!

So when I get the game, I should change the layout eh?

            A - Block
            X - Punch
            Y - Kick

That's what I've always changed the controls too, feels much better IMO.

              I changed it to

              A - Kick
              X - Punch
              Y - Block

seems to be going Ok so far, but need to spend time in the sparring mode now to get to grips with the moves etc
