    360 "Rep" issues!

Didn't see a thread about this, but I thought it'd be nice to have a moan and complain about the issues associated with the new "rep" scheme!

I just noticed I have a 14% avoided player rating! All for unsporting behaviour, now that really really pisses me off since I always take care to be sporting!

I thought they said that if it were just some disgruntled twat then it wouldn't effect your reputation? I remember beating some German guy 8-1 at Fifa 06 Road to the World Cup, I'd imagine he gave me a bad rep for that. I also fluked a 9 ball match, potting the 9 ball off the break twice to win the match, but that was a fluke, I'm wondering if the person I played took exception to that?

It's quite annoying actually because as I say, I always try to be sporting and fair, never left a game early, never fouled anyone maliciously etc that kinda thing.

I let my mate have a bash on the 360 when he came back from Cyprus, and I told him clearly not to **** my rep up, and I watched every game he played, so it can't be that. I can only think its malicious bad losers etc.

    Anyone else got any gripes?

It doesn't bother me, because I imagine it's little kids thinking "Haha, I got on over on him!"

I've got 14% bad feedback too, which I assume is from one person, rather than multiple people. That said though, it was for "Trash Talk", and I got it while I didn't have a headset.

But thats exactly why it DOES annoy me. Don't get me wrong, I won't lose sleep over it, because it's just gaming so to speak but it does piss me off because I'd hate to think its kiddies doing it, because I consider the 360 quite an adult gaming experience thus far.

As I say, I won't lose sleep but it has annoyed me because last time I look I had 100% good/no feedback, and 0% negative...

Not arsed about my rep at all. You expected to go the next 5 years keeping 100%? I bet that's impossible.

I just knew from day one that if my mates were let loose on it they'd be taking the piss and messing around all the time anyway - Am I expected to stand over and watch their every move like their ****ing parents when I have tidying up and making food to do? LOL. Pointless to begin with.

I don't care about rep, gamerscore or matchmaking - as long as I can arrange the odd sesh with folks off here I'm happy.

'Adult gaming' doesn't exist in the real world mate. Games are still for kids - 18 certificates or not. Our local mentality is like "computers are for kids!!" - no word of a lie.

I take it you've never played a game of PDZ online during the day then.

If it helps, the negative feedback doesn't seem to effect your star rating at all, and no-one but you can see the feedback you've been left. I just don't look at it.

That's it though; online gaming is either completely ****e, or absolutely brilliant, and it's almost entirely down to who you're playing with.

I'd be suprised if there were many people that bother giving good feedback to be honest; have you given it out to anyone who's not on your friends list?

I've got 14% avoided as well. I dont't really care about it because I know it's not true.

BTW do other players also see this or is it only the star rating that they see?

              Edit: Keith answered my question.

It's not that I've got negative rep points (or whatever) that bothers me to be honest, it's that its for "unsporting behaviour" which really grates with me!

I don't care about having negative feedback, because I've left some for others so I suppose what goes around comes around (although I only leave it when I feel its needed).

I suppose just lately I haven't enjoyed the LIVE experience much because I keep getting tossers on the other end taking forever on shots, or just being irritating, or constantly swearing when I don't have the headset in and my wife having to sit there hearing it, which I don't appreciate. She tells me off for swearing, yet she copes with me playing games etc, hearing swearing coming from the tv set just annoys her more!

As for PDZ, I watched my mate play a couple of live games and I thought it looked the most boring LIVE experience I've ever seen, honestly. COD2 is much much better though.

Hmm, I wonder if I got the bad rep cos he just kept snipering people all the time in COD2! That's probably it!

I have actually yeah, when I've had a good chat whilst playing and really enjoyed the game, I have done!

I've played VERY little with guys on here to be honest, we're always playing different games hehe.

Oh and HAHA, added you to friends list I'm pretty sure that people can only see the stars rating, not the actualy percentages.

The only reason I mentioned PDZ is because if you play it during the day, it is most definitely not and "adult gaming experience".

I understand where you're coming from, (I mean, the "Trash talking" I was accused of doing whilst sans-headset was hardly justified either ), but I really wouldn't let it bother you. Like I said; I don't look at mine.

Oh, and you can turn the voices off from other players if you don't want to listen to them (which is a feature that I use a lot.)

Comes back to what Fallows said really: Personally I'm barely ever on Live unless it's been arranged on't forums. Surefire way to not get stuck with twats.

Always said it will be abused something awful.
Got pissed off myself as i was racing a guy on PGR3 one of the N?rnberg variants, was a tight battle between me in 2nd him in 1st now at one point he lost up the kerb started sliding left n right in a F50 typically....i came RIGHT up behind him, **** slammed me brakes and just gently tipped the back of him, he spun round. Now at one point in that game i also MOVED out the way to let him pass as i spun out.
After the game was finished i was damn proud of my race very solid so i saved the replay.
Checked my REP (i have Rep paranoia, meaning i have to check after every game, just so i can lay down some Rep Revenge if i have too.) yep he left Unsporting feedback.
Check the replay from all angles, personally can't see how it was my fault as he was already on the way to losing.
Decided now i will just take Rep on the chin as the people on my friends list are the people i want to be playing with, dont give a **** about anyone else on there if they choose to avoid me then its their loss as they will be avoiding me.
                      Rant over.

                        Welcome to the Live experience

I wouldn't worry about feedback - I got a 50% complaint of trash talking after a game of PDZ. There's just one problem with that: I hadn't used the headset for the whole game

I suspect all my bad rep comes from PGR3 - people have become so paranoid about the whole 'spinning' issue that they moan even when they drive into you. I even had one guy take me out and I just happened to clip him on the way passed, making him spin too. My fault apparently!

Hehe well like I say, I watched a mate play PDZ and thought it was absolutely dire, it really cemented it as "worst game I own for 360", it really did!

I won't let it bother me, don't worry, too busy too care with my son getting ever more adventurous! Its the first time I've looked since November to be honest, which is why I was pissed off!

Forgot about that feature as well, keep meaning to do it actually!

                              100% positive here .

In case people weren't aware, rep doesn't affect anything apart from who you are matched against. So if someone leaves you bad rep, then it means the Trueskill matchmaking will try and avoid you meeting that player again. So one positive way to look at it is that if some cretin negs you for no reason, then you can feel happier that you're unlikely to meet that knob again.

The only way you can get moved to the underground or banned is via complaints.

I think it is useful. Hopefully it will encourage just a few loud mouth sods from spewing their bile, if only to keep the 5 purty stars.
