    Animal Crossing DS / GC

    Guys, Need your advice.

I believe that im missing out by never playing animal crossing. I dont own a DS or gamecube, im willing to buy one of the above to play AC (dependant on cost) - and maybe a few more gems on the format.

So which would you recommend? Which version is superior? If i go DS i may be tempted to go wireless to get it online.

I`d defo recomend getting a DS matey and I`m sure there`ll be a load more people posting here soon telling you the same.

My DS was gathering dust until Mario Kart DS came out, now the DS is really coming into it`s own with some wicked games out at the moment and also due out over the next month or two.

I would personally buy a DS just for MKDS, I love that game so much but ACWW is taking up alot of my time at the moment. It took me a while to get into it and get used to the idea of what ACWW is all about but I got there in the end and I`ve now been sucked in.

Buy a DS, MKDS and ACWW if pos, you won`t regret it my friend!!

*Edit - I have a GC as well which to be honest I hardly play as things are slowing down a little on the GC front but, if you`ve never owned one then there will be a fair few wicked games that you`ve missed out on.

Personally I`m loving my DS at the mo, I play FPS games online on my PC but I`ve always loved my consoles since I was little and dreamed of being able to play people other than my friends at the games that only appear on consoles. The DS is of course designed with this in mind which is it`s biggest draw for me personally.

The GC on the other hand has some trully awsome games on it, my fave probably being Resident Evil 4, there are also two other GC exclusive RE games which are class. You will also be able to get AC and Mario Kart Double Dash aswell as loads of other class games.

It all depends on what you want out of it. I`m glued to my DS 99% of te time and believe me matey, there`s nowt better than smashing frenchies, germans, americans, whatever on MK...... it fookin` owns!! 8)

      Im with vonmanc

get a DS, since getting mine ive been playing it for around 2 hours a day and it genuinely has got me back into enjoying gaming

MKDS and ACWW are absoultely superb on it and with the wifi it just makes it all the better

Plus theres some other cracking games out there that will easily keep you entertained, like Truama Centre, Mario and Luigi 2 , Super Monkey Ball, Meteos, Viewtful joe, warioware, yoshi touch and go, mario 64, arrghhh the list is endless hee hee

The Gamecube version would have been the superior version were it not for the Wi-fi functions on the DS that blow the GC version out of the water. This game was meant to be played online, although not exclusivly, and it adds so much to the game the GC version lacked.

If for some reason you can't get online, or don't know half a dozen othere with AC:WW go for the Gamecube version. If online is even just a remote possibility, it's the DS game all the way.

There is a Resident Evil game coming out soon that looks wicked, I`m well looking forward to it! You can use the stylus to slash zombies with ya knife and there is also a multiplayer co-op mode, this would be wicked if it`s online too but I`d bet it`s just DS to DS, regardless it`ll be boss!!

Yeah, get a DS fella if you have the ability to get online or are thinking about getting online. As you can see from other threads here, there are always people that want to swap codes and play.

Ps, I`m running out of people to play on MKDS so PM me your friend code when you get it

            It's a tough choice...

The big downer with the DS version is the NES games have been removed.

The big downer with the GC version is no online or wi-fi play.

The big upside with the DS is it's portable, which is ideal for Animal Crossing

The big upside with the GC version is it has nicer visuals and audio

But when all's said and done, and I've played them both a *lot*, but would just give the edge to the DS version. And that's without taking into consideration all the other incredible DS games you'll be able to play on the system. It's simply the best system to own at the moment. Buy Animal Crossing, MarioKart, Ouendan, Sonic Rush, Mario & Luigi and Viewtiful Joe.. and kiss your freetime goodbye.

Thanks for your help guys - I have owned a GC but had to sell it due to lacko cashish! Think the fact that the DS is portable - and ideal for ACWW looks to be a winner for me.

Dont really have room for another console either. Just waiting for the next wave of 360 games to come out
