Selling Animal Crossing 'bells' on Ebay...

Has anyone else noticed the spate of Ebay listings for Animal Crossing DS bells. I saw someone sell 20 million bells for around $80 U.S. online and a friend of mine just sold a few million bells and all the rare items for around $35. I recently visited his town and picked up a few million in rare items just lying around (he has a crack for it), enough to pay for 3 home extensions.

Anyway, I'm guessing the bottom should fall out of this market within the next week or two as anyone who buys bells can then sell on them via Ebay themselves (I'm assuming that as long as you don't save your game aftwards you can give away everything repeatedly).

So anyway, what does everyone else think of all this.

Sites (can't remember main ones URL's) make quite a bit of money out of SWG items, WoW gold and the like, been going on for years and always will do.

Search World of Warcraft Gold on ebay/google and see all the results.

Hmm... interesting that you can trade bells on the DS one when they made sure you couldn't send money in the GC one.

Yes.

But I suppose it also allows you to get creative. My friend is currently busy chopping down every tree in his village ahead of same planned conceptual art thing. He's working at an international school in taiwan so I suspect he has too much time on his hands...

Anyway, I wonder if Nintendo expected this to come about with WiFi Animal Crossing? I mean it's been going on in MMORPG's for years now, but this is Nintendo's first 'real' venture online internationally.

About a year ago I think. A Chinese guy killed some other guy for stealing a sword and selling it. He'd been to the police first, but they didn't take him seriously since it was a "virtual crime".

Because you instead have all the fun that the $80 will a time will buy? If you can make money selling the bells and items, then cracking seems a pretty obvious thing to do.
