Are we actually going to discuss those rather "interesting" Enter the Matrix scores. I think this officially caps my respect for those magazines now. Capped I tells ya ft:

Yep, it's a sad day when Enter The Matrix scores more than a Kof game

I cannot trust reviewers who give truly pathetic pieces of software which dont even qualify to be called "games" like Enter The Matrix such a score. I think 2 out of 10 is pushing it for that garbage, Famitsu scores are getting more and more wild as time goes on - you cant trust them.

A bit patchy I think. Less for Slug 3 & KoF2002 than I thought the Jpn mags might give - I wonder why?

Still, Minna No Golf looks to be the online place to be, & VJ & Initial D both scored well

what are the slug 3 issues, the conversion or the game itself?

JB NightFire was pushing it, but now. Sheesh!

I find this attitude, which is all over this board quite strange.

I hated the movie - but thought the game was just average. However most of my friends, who are not as much of a "hardcore gamer" as me, enjoyed the game and loved the film.

I do not really understand how so many people here can love the movie, in all of its shallowness, yet complain that the game suffers almost exactly the same faults.

Incidentally, that score for Viewtiful Joe - that really excites me. I have managed to hold off pre-ordering it so far, but I dont think I will be able to hold out any longer!

Famitzu isn't a hardcore games magazine, its much like englands C&VG magazine, the problem with these magazines is they promote hype, so when the game comes out they have to add a little extra on just to justify all the hype they've done previously

Or to justify the payment they received for the score.

That's the way it goes for 99% of commercial videogaming journalism, it seems.

Have we decided that reviews are actually "bought" because if they are thats outright freaking outrageous.

It's because different people have wildly different tastes - for example I dont think the movie Reloaded is shallow (the total opposite, it's one of my fave films) while you dont like it.

However the game is boring and pointless for me. There is nothing in that "game" that works correctly, it has no atmosphere whatsoever, nothing to drive you to learn all the game's skills (not that there's much to learn), totally sterile looking levels with pathetic enemies. I dont play games for graphics and effects etc - I play games which have a deep system and enjoying taking that system as far as I can - that is what gaming is about to *ME* I have no right to speak for other people.
