Inital D PS2: Steering wheels and paddles?

I've finally got round to having a semi playable setup with my DFP and Initial D, just waiting on Toca 3 and Sega Rally 2006 to come through the door.

However, its been ages since I played Initial D and using the d-pad to shift gears is just poor.

Is there any steering wheel that has paddle gears that the game will recognise?

    Cheers

    Yes, the older GT-Force wheel.

The older Driving Force wheel uses the d pad for gear shifts on InitiIal D as well despite having the flappy paddle gears on it. TBH I don't see the problem with using the d pad for shifting, it's what I used to get some pretty decent times on Akina & Akagi downhill many moons ago.

So the "Driving Force" is a totally different wheel then? I thought it was just the name they gave the "GT-Force" over here...

There's no d-pad whatsoever on the GT-Force and it definitely works.

GT Force is the first one, no d-pad. Driving force was the second wheel, which I think was not released in Japan. Driving Force Pro is the same but with gear stick and 900-degree turning There's three FF wheels from Logitech/Logicool.

Man I'm trying to track this wheel down! There is one on ebay that is without the power supply. Does the GT Force use the same PSU as the Driving Force Pro?

Not sure about that, but I do know that Logitech are rather nice if you phone them and explain things. I have heard that they have sent replacement PSUs out for free!

Even for a small charge it would be worth it!
