woah he managed to rack up 20 wins??!!! who's in 2nd place then? i got like 2 wins out of 5 :P

maybe there should be a maximum of how many wins in a row you can rack up - gives everyone else a bit of a chance to catch up (and we won't be standing for so long)

are you still going to do halo? it didn't seem very busy for the duration i was there - and it took up a lot of space :P

well organised though and was damn fun as well - thanks for organizing it etc etc will you be doing any more in the near future?

p.s. - please use winning eleven 6 fe!!
We'll still do halo. Cause I know there is a big fan base there. But cause its a Saturday, only three of the regulars turned up for Halo.

There's another one this week saturday..

You cant expect manz to stay there for that long, I also dont understand the scoring system - why cant you have a knockout style system like the Japanese Evo events? There is no sence that you are actually getting anywhere when playing the way you guys have it set. Also you have the game's timer too tight - the tournament setting is 45 seconds, too many matches were coming down to time and that shouldnt happen.

The scoring system as follows: 3 point for a match won. no points if you lose. Its very much based on the football league system. You have "rounds" stats which are your goal differences, goals scored and goals conceeded. The aim is to build up your stats, by winning. The more you win, the higher you go. I'm gonna post up the league tables soon on the game focus website.

      Sample follows:

I'm gonna experiement on different ways of ranking, such as ladder, bonus schemes, bounty, etc. I need a balance that will give both newcomers and veterans a system that is fair.

The reason why I have not chosen knockout style system is because many people turn up much later than 11AM. I have to commedate them as well as the early birds. Also, I want a more relaxed enviroment, so that people will have more fun and confidence in playing and find out if they are good at a game without spending over ?5 for getting knocked out early. Think of it as an inexpensive arcade with regular prizes...

At a personal note, I find that from my experience, knockout styles in video games are much less exciting, especially for many of thoses who are knocked out early from the tournament. I feel that its not value for money and is a complete waste of ?3 or any fee of money. I assess how many people play on the arcades and how much money they spend, so ?3 is value for the way the league tournament is setup.

I rather leave knockouts to the people who can offer big prizes, such as the organisers of the Evo2k3 competition in America.

The game time is set to default. I don't have any problems for setting higher match/round times, as long as its not inifinite.

There's a GameCube adapter which lets you use a keyboard and a PS2 pad/stick on the console. It detects both analogue and digital signals, so it works on arcade sticks.

I'm asking game focus if they can order them...

Excellent. Any idea where they can be bought (other than gamefocus if/when they get them)?
