    I Heart My PSP

I picked up a PSP for my birthday 2 months ago and it\'s completely put the fun back into gaming for me. For a couple of years I\'d been getting increasing depressed by Xbox titles that promised much, but failed to deliver the thrills I was expecting (notable exceptions being Burnout 3 and X-Men Legends).

But I\'ve been glued to the PSP ever since I got it. Ridge Racer and Lumines are simply fantastic, and I\\\'ve even ordered my first import game (Me & My Katamari - US version). Looking through the threads on these forums, there seem to be loads of good titles on the horizon too: Powerstone, Outrun2, Extreme G&G, Loco Roco etc. Finally gaming is FUN again - simple, pick-up-and-play fun!

BTW this isn\'t a PSP fanboy post, I\'d consider a DS too if I could afford it

Taiko no Tatsujin really done it for me psp wise, although i do love world series poker, lumines and GTA too.

Virtua tennis is fun but a touch laggy

Oh yes! Bigtime. I like yourself got my psp for my birthday a month ago and although im still in the 'honeymoon' period i can clearly see its going to be a very long term love affair. I cant fault it tbh and things are looking up software wise with all the great stuff on the horizon and ps1 emulation on the way too!

If you like RPG's you can't go much wrong with Tales of Eternia.

Enjoy it while it lasts guys - my PSP hasn't been touched for weeks. The DS is getting the lion's share of decent software at the moment. There are some interesting titles lined up for the PSP, including Capcom Classics and Ghouls 'n' Ghosts, but on the whole the machine has been a massive letdown for me personally.

I'm in same boat as Duddyroar. I have both PSP and DS. My PSP hasn't been touched for weeks... only maybe fondled by my girlfriend when playing GO!Sudoku.
I will keep hold of the PSP as I am sure great titles are on their way: Monster Hunter, GnG and hopefully an all new version of Pro Evo Soccer (Shingo was not pleased with the release of the first one).

I have Metroid Hunters and Tetris DS due to arrive for DS. Handheld gaming is really looking good, with wifi play and all. If you can afford both, get em both.

Yup, I'm the same. I love it and my DS equally really but find the PSP droughts a bit annoying.

Still, I've bought 17 games for it since I got it about a year ago on US launch and really enjoy every one.
MGA 2 and Capcom Classics are 2 more games I'm really looking forward to.

Mark me down with Duddyroar mine hasn't even been charged up since Xmas - It's a great machine but support so far has been pretty poor IMO.

By contrast my DS is just ticking along nicely.

I haven't played the PSP for ages, and even then it's been SNES emu stuff.

I really enjoyed Ridge Racers though.

Use mine every day. Funnily enough I'm finding I don't need any more games yet (but my want list still exceeds what I've got). This week I'm watching 'trading places' on it whenever I go for a dump.

Don't get me wrong - there are some amazing games for the PSP - Ridge Racers and Lumines stand out as two really good examples. But where's the support? I think the problem is that developers see creating games for the PSP as too much like creating them for the PS2 (in terms of workload) so they seem to be concentrating on PS2 development, where one assumes they can make more money.

The DS on the other hand has technically more basic games, so there's plenty of support for it as a result. And it has worked in its favour - there are some brilliant games for Nintendo's machine - makes me wish I hadn't sold mine to get the PSP now.

Right now, to me it's the other way around, the DS is gathering dust. Looks like the initial excitement of a new control method has faded away, and it shows. I have a similar number of games for both consoles, despite the DS 6 months headstart

Anyway, I'll get Animal Crossing next week and can't wait for Out Run

Outrun should be the dogs, though. So it's not all doom and gloom.
