I'd stay away from The Block game, it's cheap but it's a very bare-boned Arkanoid/Breakout clone, i've been a bit disapointed with it all in all - it's far too easy to get the ball going horizontal with little way to get it back, it's generally too easy overall and the stages are a bit bland. Some nice music though, and it's by Warashi who it's nice to see still going.

I've got the Billiards game, it's decent if you want some handheld Pool action

The billiards one is also available on budget in the UK as "Billiard Action". 505 Gamestreet published it.

It's a sad day when "UK budget" still means ?26

The 'Ilust Puzzle' side of the vol 7 sounds interestings.. looks like it may be a picross type game which I wouldn't mind checking out as it should work nicely with touch screen.

Not really tempted by any of the other Simple titles, but the Puzzle Series Jigsaw game is quite decent. Again, it uses the touchscreen well although it's a bit crowded and can be difficult to see the pieces clearly. There is a bit of variety in the type of puzzle available too, although the overall number of puzzles is quite low.

There's a bigger picture and better title at Play Asia: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-...8v1-43-8s.html

Looks like a Picross game to me, you can see the numbers along the top of the grid if you look closely enough. I'll definately be getting this. Love a bit of Picross I do.

Cheers, certainly does look like picross and seems to be colour picross too. The only colour picross I've played before was GBA Hatena Satena which was excellent.

After reading the review of Billiards I'm wondering if there's any benefit in getting the UK release "Billiard Action" or just sticking with the less expensive JP version?

There's no real language barrier to overcome in Billiard (I should have mentioned that in the review, really), apart from a few YES/NO options to confim or quit a game.

The only other time that you might need a bit of help is in multiplayer - the "betting" options are in Japanese, but it will only take a few minutes of play to figure out which is which (from a choice of four options) if you can't read it.

Other than that, it's all in English, so I hope that helps

                          OK, thanks.

Also, how does it compare to Archer Maclean's Pool/Jimmy White's Snooker or Virtual Pool?

I haven't played the GBA version of Archer Macleans/Jimmy White's pool, but did play the Amiga and PC versions back in the day.

It plays great, the physics do their job and there is variety in the type of shots (such as swerve and lift on the cue), which you obviously cannot do in JWWS.

But it's really all about the touchscreen controls and the addition of a second over-head screen that set it apart. That, and the multiplayer (really good with a few friends) make it a fun title that's definately worth picking up cheap.

You can do full English in Jimmy White's, but the ball will never leave the table no matter how bad your shot.

I can't find it priced according to what I think of as cheap. But anyway! I'll borrow it from a friend before I buy it.

                              Thanks for the info.
