Are the Japanese still of the view that Xbox brand is to American for their tastes?

Isn't it difficult for them to think otherwise though? Especially when you view the spartan Japanese release schedule which comprises mostly of western fps and war sims.

I don't think it just that, Japanse based consoles like the CUBE and Dreacast hardly sold that well in Japan. It seems who every has Square/Enix onboard has Japan After all that more or less what killed the Saturn off inthe Japan (Square making games for PS).
If M$ wants to have any chance in Japan its going to have to get FF13 and DQ 9 only onthe 360 , and even then the PS3 will outsell the 360 . Japanese are casuals cilty and rae happy with the Playstation as that will have by far the Greater number of titles they like.

Best M$ can hope for is to sell 3 million 360 in Japan in its lifetime (thanks in part to the Mistwalker stuff ) . At least then it should get some decent 3rd party support
