    The Outsider (PS3 and 360)

The Outsider is a high-tech thriller played out against the backdrop of a living, crowded city based on present-day Washington DC and its environs including the CIA HQ at Langley, Andrews Air Force Base and Newport News Naval Dockyard. As a CIA operative the player has a mouth-watering arsenal of technology, combat talents and weaponry available to him. A shocking opening scenario wrongly makes him Public Enemy Number One in the eyes of the media and the public at large, but leaves many different ways to proceed: to wreak ultra-violent revenge, to turn the tables and exploit the shady organisations he is mixed up with for his own ends or crusading to clear his name.
It's being developed by Frontier (who were behind Rollercoaster Tycoon) and David Braben.

    Yes, that David Braben

Isn't it great to have a game set during daylight

Looks better than it should, if that makes sense. Sounds interesting too, certainly one I'm keeping my eye on.

Its starting to look like it wont be worth buying a PS3 at launch if you already have a 360. Most of the games seem to be on both formats so far.

Unless of course GTA, MGS4 or DMC4 make it for the launch.

I've been keeping an eye on this one since the first couple of shots were released. Certainly sounds very interesting.

A guy from Frontier gave a lecture at my Uni a few weeks back, and he talked about this game quite a bit. Showed us some pre-E3 tech demoes as well, which was nice.
The game sounds very ambitious - they're aiming to make the dialogue and 'live cutscene' sections work like in HL2- but with the crucial difference that in The Outsider, you can interrupt any character, at any point, by shooting them in the face if you choose to do so. The storyline will then transform around the player's actions.

Sounds kinda like Oblivion in a way. But with guns.

                    This game needs some hype.....

Dean Calver is going to work on the Outsider:

Do you know this guy personally? It's just I've never heard of him myself but I do know there's a very talented team working on this game. Fingers crossed it live up to the early hype.

Nah, the whole deal is that he worked on Heavenly Sword.

It's looking likely that The Outsider has been cancelled and some staff from Frontier have been let go.

Rock, Paper, Shotgun has received word that David "Elite" Braben's much vaunted next game, The Outsider, was apparently…

The game reminds me of an old PS2 game called EXO. It looked fantastic, had a grand vision and never really took off the ground because of a Publisher.
