I agree also you can track down the appreciative DVD, it is a game that rewards with the more you put into it (and it is very rewarding indeed), if i wasn't playing so many games these days over various formats i'd go back to it, i still might again one day

This is done on purpose - and it is done in both the Arcade and Dreamcast versions too. Doesnt Grad V do it too? Slow down on boss explosions for extra effect.

Oh yeah, I know it's supposed to slow down for dramatic effect, but this was posted on neo-geo.com.

During a boss explosion, the DC rev slows to 15 fps for dramatic effect (just like the original NAOMI arcade). The GC rev slows to 2 fps because it's a bug-ridden port (literally, for 2 seconds you will easily be able to count the number of frames on 1 hand).

It doesn't happen with the normal screen mode, only in TATE mode apparently. Never played the GC version in TATE myself, but the full thread is Here

Blimey in all the millions of times I have had to respond to the GC vs DC debate I havent ever seen those issues raised.

I am sure Kiken knows what they are talking about as I know they have played the game rather a lot, although I have played the GC version in tate numerous times and havent ever noticed.

As far as I am concerned a lot of people like to make a big issue of the "improvements" the DC version has or the "multitude of bugs" the GC version has but I think for 99% of people the games are all but identical with a few other not very useful modes tacked onto the GC version.

I think I might register over there to pick Kikens brains a bit because I am quite amazed they think they have had problems with the homing lasers on non PAL GC versions of the game.
