North and South. I know the GBA could easily handle it but who cares. Come on Infogrames port the bloody game already.

I wonder if there'll be the same amount of whingeing about ports on this PSP as there was about the GBA?

None - I'd like some original games please.

Marty, I knew someone would say this

But my point is that while obviously it's great to have new games developed for the PSP, there are some timeless classics that we would love to see on the handheld machine. FF Tactics on the move, yes please!

The trouble is I have a huge library of PS1 stuff, as I suspect a lot of people do, I'm not going to go out and buy them all again any more than I have on the GBA. This time around it's more difficult to use the excuse that the people would have missed out first time around al? SNES.

Quite often ports are a lazy way of making some cash - you only have to look at the quality of many of them on GBA to see this. Recent case in point being Sega Arcade Gallery.

Good points Marty, but although it's morally wrong, because it's very cheap/easy to make a port, and usually tempts companies into making nothing but ports, hence a lack of originality.

But I quite like many ports, Yoshi's Island, and Zelda LttP were two which I very much enjoyed on my GBA. I'm certain that since the PS1 has a great back library, many people would like to see some of the older games put onto this handheld.

It just depends which way you swing

Lobbying against ports may as well be extended to lobbying against this entire generation, for the most part.

                    Super Puzzle Fighter
                    Paradius Deluxe
                    My Cooking
                    IQ Final

                    I guess that's about it.

I already have all the psone games i wanted im not likely to buy them again... The psp is a nice idea and should do very well thanks to the sony name. But am i the only person really not interested?

The GBA does enough for me, and has a pretty decent line-up i dont really want another thing that does the same. The possiblilty of improved graphics on the psp doesnt hold much water, it means that most of the games will be bad wobbly buggy playstation style 3D, that the unit may have to be big and bulky and not cheap. The coherient, timeless and faultless 2D and simple 3D of the GBA appeals more to me. Then the gamecube, psone and ps2 i already own I can use for when im in the need for something more modern.

Not that many PSone games I particulaly like/want.

I would like Bishi Bashi Special (plus the Jap only sequels in one pack) and an Um Jammer Lammy/Parappa the Rapper double pack.

I'm more skeptical than disinterested but yeah, I know what you mean.

I already have all the PS1 games I want and don't feel the need to buy them again on a handheld. I'm also interested in how this CD-based handheld is going to compensate for skipping, or what the screen will be like.

The whole idea sounds wildly impractical but best of luck to Sony if it can pull it off. Throw in some original content that makes use of the alleged 'Dreamcast-quality graphics' and I might actually start to care.
