The problem with Steven Kent's book is that it is very US centric and it rushes the last generation and the beginnings of the current one.

I agree that it is US centric, with very little mention of the 8-bit computer revolution that took place in Europe. The reason it rushes that last generation is that the original book (The First Quarter) only covered the first 25 years, and the mention of any of the more recent consoles were only included in new editions of the book. Hopefully we won't have to wait another 25 years to get a follow up book
