    Argh... my pad!

So there I was, 3 laps into a 10 lap multiplayer race on PGR. 20 seconds in front, my cousin was having a ****e race. I dove fairly hard into a corner I normally take easier such was my confidence. This required some hefty last minute braking, so I slammed down the L trigger. I was quite bemused to find it didn't pop back out, and much hilarity ensued when I started driving backwards around the track (ie stuck in reverse), turning a 20 second lead into a 30 second deficit, before my smacking the pad hard on the floor made the trigger pop back out

Anyone else had any quality "Argh... my pad!" moments?

my pads always do stuff like this, I normally smack them agianst something to fix them althought they are never the same as they used to be :S My pads always get broke(mostly me) but im keeping my gamecube pad in good condition, for now.

My wavebird controller used to cut out at the worst possible moments. It wasnt due to low batteries but I have a lot of other AV equipment around so I think there may have been interference. It is incredibly annoying on a game like SMB where precision is so so important.

One of my Xbox Pad L triggers seems to press ever so slightly at random. VERY annoying in Halo when you keep throwing grenades for no reason, or when you're sniping in Online RTCW and you just jump ft:

I remember the "B" button on my Mega Drive pad got pretty worn out. I rewired that connection to the start button, problem solved. Or so I thought.

Along comes Street Fighter 2. Switching between punches and kicks is alkward at the best of times.. more so when the start button is ****ed.

The analogue buttons on the Dual Shock 2 are starting to test my patience too. Realising you haven't been pressing full throttle ofter 2 hours of racing can be particularly irksome.

My MS Optical cordless mouse is great for running out of juice and popping up some obtrusive battery low messages at critical moments.

the worst one i did which isnt a pad problem as such but switching the n64 on and having the analog stick outta place, it registered that as centre so ur stick didnt work properly going into a 4 played match and constantly spinning around was so annoying

I pissed myself laughing reading that part.

I could just picture the scene in my head.

A real man would have sucked it up, spun around, and won the race in reverse. Yep, that's what a real man would have done.

Ah yes the good old classic "Hey my L Trigger is stuck causing me to drive backwards" excuse - I use it all the time

                      Hehe.

Even though I had to smack the pad on the floor now and again, I pulled that 30 second gap back down to 2 in the end

When I was small I had a snes pad with autofire, the autofire for the a button used to activate randomly for no apparent reason, the amount of anguish it caused me was immense.
