    New Super Mario Bros

Jump Superstars (Guess it depends if you an anime fan or not.)
    Pheonix Wright
Of course there is tons of other fantastic games but i just thought id mention my personal favorites.

Trauma centre REALLY shows off the quality of the DS and how much fun it can be.

Oh and you'll lose months to Animal Crossing : Wild World...

Although it doesn't really use the DS's features, I can't see past New Super Mario Bros.

            Wario Ware Touched!
            Feel the Magic
            Rub Rabbits

All use the unique DS features. I've been playing Brain Training everyday, though it's limited in what it does it's a lot of fun, and something that takes ten mins to train everyday. It also does seem to work at activating your brain if my graphs are anything to go by.

              You know where to go!

Metoes if you like your puzzlers - easy to play, difficult to put down.
Wario Ware Twisted - because it's genius.
Kirby Canvas Curse for some platforming action, very clever little game.

Animal Crossing worked pretty well on Gamecube

Ouendan is still only available as JP release atm, coming to our shores under the sucky name of Elite Beat Agents :/

I read in Edge that Elite Beat will have all new music (and possibly story too), so unless it gets a JPN release it'll be worth picking up both as EBA's effectively Ouendan 2...

true, but i'd say wi-fi elevates it so much. i'd hate to have played it without any other human interaction.

i decided to ignore the 'pal' suggestion for ouendan because its the bestest thing ever, it should be mandatory

Any of the following are worth getting:

                            Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!
                            Mario Kart DS
                            Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
                            Meteos
                            Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
                            Brain Age/Brain Training
                            Trauma Center: Under the Knife
                            Sonic Rush
                            Kirby Canvas Curse
                            Animal Crossing: Wild World
                            New Super Mario Bros
                            Wario Ware: Touched!

All excellent games that use the DS's features to varying degrees, but you can't really go wrong with any of them.

Kirby's Canvas Curse (AKA Power Paintbrush in PAL)
Advance Wars DS - I don't really like strategy games but I <3 love <3 this, it's incredibly easy to get into, plays really fast and is compulsively addictive!
                              WarioWare Touched! - Genius!
Phoenix Wright - Hardly uses the DS features but a great game nonetheless
Mario Kart DS - Great multiplayer
