    Castlevania:Lament Of Innocence PS2

Can I get excited about this yet? Even though there's 6 months to go?

Anyone else read the new EGM mag this month - there's a feature on the newest addition to the Castlevania tree, including bits & pieces from Koji Igarashi - his thoughts on the progression of the series etc.

I'm liking the look of it so far - fixed overhead 3D camera (a la Ico), so no distorting viewpoints in the thick of the action, some tasty (& huge) looking boss battles & all in all some nice looking PS2 graphics.

So, are we looking forward to another Castlevania? Or have we had our fill/become jaded by the N64 incarnations?

Though i'm really getting into Castlevania atm, with recent purchases and completions of Nocturn in the Moonlight, Aria of Sorrow & Circle of the Moon.

The news that this PS2 version is all about action and will have no RPG type exp points, level up system(as sad as that sounds) as with the previous games, i'm a little put off.

Some how, the exp system in Castlevania never seems to tire for me, the soul system in AoS is brilliant.

I hope they re-hash Syphony of the Night for the PSP. *dreams*

Good point - Igarashi makes some noise about character levelling up in the piece - he feels it makes the game (specifically talking about SotN) too easy for more experienced players

Definitely looking forward. I never thought SOTN's level system added much to the game anyway so I consider it no great loss at all.

castlevania should not (or never should have) be taking into the 3d world

A question to all Castlevania fans.
I hated the MD castlevania (new generation it was called iirc) yet I hear glowing praise for the series. Is the MD game a good indication of the rest of the series or might I actually like a Castlevania game?

Why dont you try one of the GBA castlevanias, you can get HOD for about ?10 and its really great, some people prefer COTM though.

I rate PS Simphony Of The Night amongst the best games ever. But is more Metroid than Castlevania.

I'm a little disappointed that we're not going to see any 2D Castlevania games except on GBA SP and maybe future handhelds. I'd love to see an all singing, all dancing 2D extravaganza on a home console. The trouble is, only a handfull of people go out and buy them.

C'mon people, embrace the past! 2D is... um, wicked man!

                    How about Dance Dance Castlevania?

I'm mildly interested in this game. Mildly...now to use my newfound slang.
                    Castlevania owns joo!
