[From the dev] Got questions on Mad Tracks?

    Hello all!
I'm Denis from Load Inc. a Paris based independent devlopment studio.
Most of the team comes from UbiSoft and has worked on AAA car games (F1 Grand Prix, POD, Monaco GP to name a few).

I am here to answer all of you.
Make sure to tell me if you don't like what we do and why, that's how we get better (drop us a line if you like what we do, we send good posts to our mothers).

Anyhow, I'll try to be as present as I can.
Forgive my approximate english, it is not my mother tongue!

To kick things off: no, Mad Tracks will not be Live...

    Cheers,
    Denis.

Is it single player only then? Not even a split screen mode?

Well first off, I played the demo on PC and thought it was a lot of fun, so well done on the game. I have to say though, I was a little gutted to hear it wont be playable over Live, as it would be so well suited to a bit of banter and a few beers. I understand this is down to cost, but I really think the game would benefit hugely in the long run if this were to change.

You'll be able to play split screen with 4 players.
Adding 4 NPC will make 8 players challenges!
          Cheers!

That's a bit of a redempsion then. But I do think not having xbox live play will kill it for a lot of people.

I was terribly dissapointed to hear about the exclusion of Xbox Live, fair enough it costs but you're gonna do it one day! It looks great, it really does but it's not worth buying if it doesn't have Live play.

I think this thread will be about Live play to be honest, so i'll ask a different question.

Do you have a variety of courses to play on? i.e Garden/Kitchen/the usual Micro Machine themes. If so, does it include different vehicles or just cars/buggies/beatles

                Let me say this once.
I swear the most disapointed of all is the dev team. We worked hard, with little support from outside and it was a heart breaking decision to make.
We tryed to make it up by adding 43 leaderboards and some goofy easter eggs (sorry I can't say more on that!!).
I understand some of you are disapointed to a point of not getting the game and that's fair. But I'm not going to serve you some marketing crap. We are not doing it, it sucks, we put our guts in this game and trust me it will meet it's public

Next title is already implemented with Live code, but that's a 2007 release (on a Wednesday of course).
Have fun! I'm signing off for the evening (got to play Cloning Clyde - solo).
                Denis.

I'm not interested in this game unless it has Live play, a party game that is only downloadable on xbox live? Seems like a wasted opportunity

Forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere - I've not checked any external links so I don't know what's already been stated and what hasn't.

Considering the sales of Mad Tracks go well, are there other game concepts of yours that you'd like to see released on Xbox Live Arcade?

Will the game include Xbox Live features at all, for instance ghost car downloads, or if there's a track editor in the works, the ability to upload your own creations?

                      welcome to the forums

                      1. Are there any games which you would say Mad Tracks is the spritual successor to?

                      2. Any idea on what the price will be of the game?

                      3. Any idea on the release date?

just wondering if the sales of the game go well would you be able to add a free multiplayer pack? hense entising more people who gave it a miss in the first place?

Well thanks for being upfront and "brave" enough to come on and be so open.

Not much else to say that everyone else isn't saying - mate, Live would have made this game SOAR. With the right handling model (not played the PC demo so can't comment) you could have had a monster on your hands. I sincerely hope it does well for you so you can make a Live sequel in the future.

In the meantime, the lack of "outside help" you've received infuriates me, so if I happen to bump in to Bill Gates down Brighton seafront in the near future, I'll give him a good slap for you

yeah, considering Microsoft keep making a fuss about how they want small developers on board etc, then it turning out they're giving out no help whatsoever is very annoying (I feel the same if the same turns out to be the case for Nintendo too).

                              Denis,

Thansk for coming on and letting us know the facts.

As silvergun asked - Will there be any online interaction ? downloadable ghosts for the top 10 on your numerous leaderboards (a-la PGR3) for example would be quite a redeeming feature - Probably enough to relieve my infuriation at a lack of live multiplayer
