I know what you mean. Richard Jacques' music gave MSR something extra. MS added a different flavour to the PGR series... perhaps not worse but definitely different. At the time there was a wow factor to MSR and 'it's a real city' vibe, which coupled with the soundtrack, gave it a special atmosphere.

    As for other demos.

Didn't Sega Saturn magazine give away the entire first disc to PDS as a demo back in '98? I wasn't a Saturn gamer at that time, but I'm surprised no one's mentioned it yet for being the best demo evah.

Showing my age a bit, but best demo EVER was Bubble Bobble for the Speccy, came on a magazine a good couple of months before the game was released if memory served.

My mate and I hammered those 5 levels like nothing else

As a side note, apparently at the 11th hour, just before the magazine was going to be published, someone realised they'd included the FULL version of the game on the mag, not just the 5 level demo, so they quickly had to redo the tapes. Or something. It was a LONG time ago.

That one is interesting because the final game was quite a lot different!

That would be appreciated muchly. It's probably going to be hard enough to find without knowing what month of the mag I'm looking for

MDK2 on the DC the first level where you could open your rubber suit and float - I hadnt played MDK so didnt know what to expect.

I used to zoom in to the textures, character models and backgrounds using the sniper as it truly felt unique and Im a gfxlingus enthusiast.

                Really?
I've got that demo with Resi Directors Cut and can't say I've seen any difference. It is of course about a thousand years since I played that demo you understand.

The difference I remember had you going beyond Kendo's van down the alleyway, which brought you out to the burning Fire Engine just before the Police Station (I think).

As opposed to turning back on yourself, and journeying through that small basketball court.

There was a shortened route to the police station and a couple of different screens. Apart from that, not much difference at all.

It's been ages since I played the magazine RE2 demo and the RE2 demo with the RE Director's Cut.
