    Midtown madness 3 - the fun-age

I was in my Mini Cooper, minding my own business driving down the Champs-Elys?es when suddenly a swarm of police cars appeared behind me.

"we're coming to get ya" sounded in my ear(s) so i accelerated and tried to shake them off. sadly my Mini wasn't as fast in the straights as the police cars but i could turn corners quicker so i tried to lose them with taking the next couple of rights then lefts - 2 police cars smashed into a wall with the other 4 gaining ground with every second

"head him off", "trap him" was all i could hear screaming at me whilst the sirens were droning away .

I was now lost - i knew the general direction of the Eiffel Tower but between me and it was some distance - plus i only had 2 police cars still behind me, where the other 2 had disappeared to i just didn't know.

I came to the Avenue de la Grande Armee and headed towards the Arc de Triomphe - the avenue is quite a long stretch and the 2 patrol cars were getting closer and closer --- "give up", "you can't escape" was getting shouted at me -- i finally broke my silence to scream back "you'll never take me alive pigs" which was a big mistake......

since waiting for me at the Arc de Triomphe was the other 2 patrol cars in a road block - i smashed straight into the middle of them ..... I was caught

thus ends one hunter race on midtown madness 3 online

Was going get this tonight but couldn't find it in currys, dixons or pc world. Think i'll ring the local indie tomorrow if they don't have it then i'll order it off the net.

I really look forward to getting this, though I cant choose between it and Midnight Club 2.

i have both and i prefer midtown madness 3 for the different play modes - the excellence of the lobby system and the arcade style handling (very crazy taxi-ish)

plus the size of the cities dwarf mc2's - even though it has 1 less city each one is double the size of mc2's

Is there any lag or slowdown at all?

Is there much lag going on?

bit of lag when someone joins the game - you can join games already running and your just dropped straight into the city - but its only there for a second (if that)

only 8 people are allowed per server - which keeps the lag down to a minimum - each server is ranked by 3 colours - gold, silver, bronze - and at the weekend it was predominantly silver but all today is has been mainly gold servers available - whilst the game doesn't lag or slowdown for you, other cars sometimes 'stutter' (for want of a better word) - its not bad though and i have only seen it happen a few times when looking back at a car

Great reading camps, wish I had an Xbox. Reminds me of my all time fav AC racer GTI Club.

Quick question for those already enjoying MM3. Are any of you running a UK version on a NTSC [or UK machine set to NTSC] console? Just want to know if it loads!!! Reason I ask is detailed here http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/viewtopic....asc&highlight=

Is the single player as worthless as everyone says it is?

i have sampled the single player once and its just a runabout/wreckless clone-age. tbh the single player is there to get you used to the cities ready for online play as far as i can tell - but saying that some people have been saying that they have started playing through the single player mode and its turning out to be quite good fun. will have a more thorough session on the single player mode tomorrow and get back to you

though getting this game for the single player aspect isn't something i would recommend - maybe rent it or something - the main course of this meal is definitely the xbox live gaming
