    Tomato Adventure (GBA, JPN)

I'm undecided as to whether to purchase this or not since I've heard some varied opinions on it.

Convince/Put me off if you will forum!

I was gonna buy this the other day but someone else beat me to it

It was featured in Edge as one of the best original Jp GBA games released so it should be good.

After reading your thread I decided to "try" it out. It seems like your bog standard RPG to me, with a few minor differences. The enemies wander about on the screen, to be engaged or avoided at your pleasure. You can give your attacks a little extra power if you time a button press correctly. Kind of a halfway step to Mario & Luigi RPG on the GBA, but vastly inferior. I can't read enough Japanese to understand the story, and it does not distinguish itself with any extraordinary graphic style or music. I'd avoid a purchase unless you have an irresistable infatuation with tomatoes.

I know Tomato Adventure is made by Alpha Dream, the developers of the Mario & Luigi Superstar games and has some pretty small sprite work. That's about all though, I've not played it much as it's quite text-heavy.

I bought it because I'd heard good things. I remember reading that GBA article.

There are quite a few decent gameplay videos for this on youtube. Always worth checking out to see if anything inspires you or not.

Yep, the PA price was the tempter! I'd heard it was similar to M&L on the GBA but not as 'polished', yet for ?8 seemed to be worthy of a purchase. Bah, I know I should stop spending but gaming is a very strange lure as I'm sure many are aware of!
