i will be predictable and go with PGR3, i found RR quite dull and boring both off and online.

Where as Cat and mouse in PGR3 is brilliant on Live, even none racing games fans, can enjoy it.

PGR3 over Ridge for me, but they are two different games really. Ridge is arcade all the way and PGR3 is about half and half. (arcade/sim)

I agree totally, they are so different.

Before the 360 came out all i wanted was PGR3, but 9 months later Ridge is the game i'm still playing regularly. Possibly my favourite 360 game full stop.

wow, never thought i'd see that comment!! you obviously never played online with me and nige, there was one race i was actually crying with laughter the entire way through due to the 'monstrous' car's rediculous triple nitrous morphing... i actually HURT from laughing, a 3 lap race and every time i hit the turbo i'd just double over with laughter. it's the only game i've ever laughed that hard at.

that said, burnout online was tremendous fun due to the intense rivally between a few of us... pure silence and you'd hear someone shout expletives over the mic, fantabulous game

For pure racing thrills, it's RR6 for sure.

PGR3 is good as well, but to me, it's more of an attempt to recreate a city than be a good driving game. The New York and Las Vegas circuits are pretty boring and that's half the game.

What bugs me about PGR3, and the series in general, is that it actually seems to be less with every installment. Good old MSR on the DC was really great, the way they made the cities was a great idea, the tracks were very good and the game was just full of great little touches, like the real time thing, all the joke vehicles and silly cheat codes, and the hilarious soundtrack by Richard Jacques. Also the setup of the game was much better, there was a logical progression through the races and the kudos system worked quite well. The handling was a bit too slippery though and the 30 fps really hurt the game, but it was fun nontheless.

PGR1 ditched the real time and the joke vehicles and cheats, but it was still a great game, with much better graphics and running at 60 fps (well, most of the time anyway). The also kept some of the best tracks from MSR. The handling was much better, I think someone once described it as not being about racing but about trying to move a car shaped object around the track as fast as possible. Not realistic at all but very intense, doing a perfect lap and drifting just on the edge between breaking out and gliding through a gap was great.

PGR2 got rid of all the classic tracks and went back to 30 fps again. The handling was a bit more stiff but still ok and the game was saved by the online play, god knows how much hours I spend playing it. It added some nice new tracks, KGB corner is a true classic in multiplayer and the large number of cities really was a great thing. The setup of the single player game was changed in that races were now restricted to car classes, something which I really hated, I want to be able to use any car I want, but I guess that's a personal thing.

And then PGR3. Again all the good tracks are ditched and now we have these large open roads which don't fit the series at all. Even worse is that they took out all the slower cars, those were always the most fun to race in multiplayer because you didn't get the huge pileup in the first corner and races were much tighter. The handling is much heavier now, I guess this is also down to personal preference but I think they should've kept it more arcade like. And finally they made the single player portion of the game completely uncompelling by giving you all the cars to race from the start. Maybe I'm weird, but I love having to race to unlock/buy new cars, it gives me an incentive to keep playing.

Sorry about the rant and going off topic, it just makes me sad because I love the series and Bizarre keep taking out the things that made it great.

for me I would go for PGR3 and Burnout:Revenge for sure,

PGR3 for the arcade/sim experience, it has an fabulous incare view, and it has no more slow cars that are a pain in the arse to drive with till you finally get to the selection of cars which are the ones you really want to drive, now in PGR3 almost all cars are fun to drive ! and I think the handling is spot on in this one. (like the first Gran Turismo game), it feels like a sim but it's quite forgiving.

Burnout:Revenge This is just plain fun, it has some incredible tracks, a great selection of cars and I think it looks and sounds great on the 360, and it's incredibly fun online, this is the game I play most online for a long time already. for me this is the best one ofthe burnout series.

RidgeRacer6 I liked it but nothing more than that, it looks very dated like a xbox or PS2 game to me when I play it compared to PGR3 and Burnout.
But I have to say RR6 is fun to play online !

PGR3 - still a great game but I also miss the slower cars (Mini Coopers in Edinburgh) and the career progression is a bit messed up.

Burnout Revenge - still get a rush playing this and its a blast single player and on XBL.

Moto GP06 - after a a bit of practise it is great fun on XBL.

I've got PGR3, Ridge6 and Need For Speed:MW and I can honestly say the one I've enjoyed the most is NFS:MW

Sure its a little buggy and has that cheesy and lazy EA vibe about it but I found Ridge 6 incredibly empty and Gotham 3 isn't as interesting as MSR or the first PGR.

You've all convinced me to get RR6 now! I never really bothered with it, had it on PSP and sure it was fun on the go but if RR6 was just supposed to be the same then I could justify spending ?40 on it as I like games like PGR3 more. But I think I might just give it a shot now since you all say its great fun on Live too. And its region free too isnt it so I'll see where I can get a cheap cheap copy then.

I also do like NFS:MW. As EAish as it was I enjoyed the game, done a Game 10 day return on it and finished it within about 3 days but there were some cool cars and some fun racing, especially when you get a huge chase going on for hours with a massive bounty on your head, endless fun.

I think it's easier to pick out the poor drivers on 360. There's like one - Full Auto - And some people even rate that !!!

Ok, you convinced me - I'm going to buy RR6, too. I was turned off by the average scores, but hey, I usually never judge by mag scores but forum posts by people who have actually played the game.
Although I'm tempted to wait for the MS wheel to be released and then dive into it.

Would like to see what rr6 play like with a wheel but ridge was always a controller game for me

Can't really blame sites for the poor review scores, it is the PSP game w/ new tracks, features etc. But it's still totally brilliant, especially if your like me and find the likes of PGR boring

Imagine the PSP game in 720p 5.1 sound and your nearly there.
