Madden 2007 PAL 360 and psp slip

Amazon are still showing friday but i had this confimed today the psp and 360 versions have slipped.
The 360 will turn up on the 8th of september making it a very full day now

Weird - just on live and a friend on there says that Toys R Us in the states are selling Madden 07, along with the Live Vision Camera (which I've seen is on ebay going for silly prices).

Yeah, was really looking forward to getting a hold of this for the 360 on Friday... some really net new features!! Still cant wait for it, gonna be really good I think!! You either love it or you hate it

I've heard the 360 version is still only two player. I mean WTF here, can't they program for more than two pads?

I don't know what EA/ retailers are playing at holding these back other than pissing people off.

The 360 version is ready and EA have shipped at least some stock (and their support staff were openly telling this to people who contacted them). There are also numerous reports of Game/ Gamestation staff saying they have copies in stock but they're not allowed to sell them 'til the new release date (8th Sept).

Having played the US version I hope EA will at least have an update out by the new release date to fix some of the silly bugs that are present.

Is it region free ?

Is it really only 2 player on 1 xbox ? If so that's absolutely ****ing pathetic - especially given this "run to daylight" feature - you'd think you could have two a side helping each other out like that.

Answer my own question - it's not region free.

And IGN don't mention player numbers in their review but they do mention lag - lots of it.

2 players head-to-head. No co-op.

What are the "silly bugs" ?

The ones I've experienced:

i) when you unlock hall of fame players (all time greats) the historic players (all rated 99/100) are automatically put into the free agent pool in franchise mode.

ii) every so often players line up to start a play but before you can run it the screen goes black & it repeats the line-up animation again.

iii) the players stamina meter doesn't deplete throughout the course of the game so you don't know who is tired/ more likely to fumble etc. IGN have reported that EA are releasing a patch for this but it's so obvious it should never have been in the final code to start with.

I think it's only 2. On the 'choose side' screen there are 4 pads shown though (2 are greyed out) though so perhaps it supports more....can't test though as I only have 2 pads.

Despite the 'niggles' it is a big improvement on '06 and the AI seems to have been tweaked a fair bit. The grass/ turf is incredibly realistic now but I guess this must have used a lot of extra processing power as the other end of the field is very blurry to look at (guess to disguise a drop in resolution or something). The game itself plays a lot like NCAA '07 (which is a good thing) but if I had to choose between the 2 I'd go for NCAA as it just seems more fun to play.

EA have made the achievements a lot more difficult to obtain. Other than an easy 20-25 points you pretty much need to either beat an all-time NFL single game record or achieve certain objectives during a full season to get anything (and usually only 20 points for each). In '06 points were literally thrown at you in their hundreds for doing nothing really so it's a definite improvement.
