    Spectacular gaming blunders

This is inspired by my discovery that Codematsers are developing Cannon Fodder for the PSP (old news I know). What were they thinking! Surely this screams ?DS!?

Anyway, what other incredible misjudgements have been made in the gaming industry?

This isn?t a ?worst game? or ?worst sequel? question although I?m sure some may come up.

Getting rid of the Hop in MarioKart on the cube - jumping over a tiny gap on a corner to shave milliseconds off a lap time really added to the gameplay I always thought.

    Metal Slug in 3D?

PS3 in Europe saga?.where to begin.

    Any others?

a few i can think of

Amiga cd32 being launched with no games

Changing the design of the japanese sega saturn pads for the usa launch

the n-gage method of changing game carts (how that could have been missed i dont know)

Perhaps not quite a blunder but the hype and promises made for the games fable (many many features promised were not included)

Ones that spring to mind -
      • The original XBox "Burger" control-pad.
      • The N64 release and Nintendo pissing off early adopters by dropping the price only mere weeks after it's UK launch.
      • Devil May Cry 2.

Call Of Duty 2 on 360's multiplayer for the first 3-4 months before they patched it.

I'll raise your Call of Duty 2 and see you with Ghost Recon's Advanced Warfighter "kicking" bug.

EA taking out half the teams and stadiums in the 360 version of FIFA 07 but leaving them in the current gen versions!

Nintendo calling the revolution, 'Wii'. Can we have that?

For my hands, it's far better than the spad....

The decision not to do tivo stuff on the 360.

I'd say the 360 stock shortage, but I got mine at launch, so I wasn't one of those idiots that paid ?500 for a box filled with bricks off of ebay, only then to go on local news and complain about how christmas is ruined for their kid.

Another vote for the PS3 delay here, stupid Sony - oh well, if they don't want my money they need only tell me.

The nokia N-gage (why has noone else mentioned this?) and to a similar extent - that G something or other - see, I can't even recall its name.
