Golf music?

Just watching Happy Gilmour on the screen and had some "golf music" like seen in the tv games....

I wondered, where did this come from, is the ditty in the movie from a game, and whatever the answer, how did that type of music become synonymous with golf games...or golf in general, just see Neo Turf Masters and many other old school golf games, why the hell did it start?

You are absolutely on the money Baseley. Play any golf game, particularly those of an arcade bent, and the music seems to have been composed by the same people - I can name a load off the top of my head - Turf Masters, Minna No, Shiyouyou, Mario Golf, Golden Tee.....

I love the music in golf games so happy. Wtf it came from... I have no idea. Even Pebble Beach had decent tunes

Indeed, Rob Hubbard's tunes for the original PGA Tour Golf were note perfect.

The stuff in Konami's fabulous Golfing Greats coin-op were a bit more 'urgent'. Sadly the sound bugs out a bit on MAME (or at least it did on the last version I tried).
