Capcom should definetely release SF4 and SF Alpha 4! A new versus game with more marvel characters would be great also. They should definetely stick to the 2D formula.

I want sf4 with all current "living cast"

NEW sprites for EVERYONE [sf3 sprites will be allowable imo]

Clear up on the story...who was the definitive winner of sf2, and whether or not other sidestories occured

            Characters

            Hagger
            Cody
            Guy
            Karin
[basically sfa3 and sf3 cast with few extras...]

And if capcom were to do another crazy Vs battle, i want to see Street fighter/capcom vs Dragon Ball Z :P with Joe!

If they were to make cvs 3

i want 50 characters representin each side, with 5 boss characters each

            I could name who i want...but i cant be arsed...basically Alpha 3/sf3 vs Kof 98/2002

Shame they will only expand the series at a snails pace...bastards...come to think of it...WHERE THE HELL IS ALPHA 4!

I would like to see Streetfighter 4 - The not so new challengers.

Pref on a basic Naomi board (like it needs anything more powerful...) in pure 2D none of this 2D on 3D Backgrounds bollocks (Capcom VS SNK 2). Should feature power bars like the SFZ2 as well as blocks and parries from SF3 and should be play tested lots to stop cheap victories and stupid length juggles (anything over 2 is overkill). It should also have more moves likes Sakuras fireball where the more you tap the button the different the fireball is.

It should definately feature Ryu and Ken, looking older, more worn, pref Ryu to have a beard, and for Ken to have a kid who is a selectable character. Sean to have grown up and to be like Ryu and Ken but nothing like them, ditto with Dan (got to have Mr Pose in there), and Sakura, who is grown up and no longer wearing a schoolgirl uniform. All the characters should be fairly real too, so Blanka and other freaks like Q would be out.

And it should feature decent music like that was in Streetfighter 3.

As well be released on the Dreamcast.

Ideally, Capcom should release an SF4 and SFZ4 within a few months of each other - the two series together cater for the needs of all fans of Capcom's play mechanic.

I couldn't say what ought to be added to the Zero series to improve it, as I didn't like Zero3 a great deal (as a standalone game it would have been fine; as an SF game, it was too unbalanced for my liking. All characters can air throw?! Pfft), and don't really see a future for the franchise. Opinions on what should be in a Zero 4 apreciated.

I think there's no excuse not to have an SF4 game that's a blend between the Zero series and the regular series. As in Zero 3, Capcom showed you can have selectable play styles running parallel without damaging the balance (I said I don't like Z3, remember, not that it's a bad game ), and this could easily be done in SF4.

If you ditched the A-ism, and returned to the custom combo option from Zero 2, you could have the two major play styles from the SF games make an appearance (Z-ism and a 'Third Strike'-ism) that could be equally balanced. No air blocks in TS-ism, and command throws and LP/LK throws only, parries, higher damage, one selectable super special only etc. The Z-ism could remain the same as SFZ3.

Visually, the only step forward the series needs to make is in terms of resolution. Marry GGXX's res to SF3's vast number of frames, and you'd get the best looking 2D fighter in existence.

If you were combining Zero and regular series, some characters should be pared-down. Loads of SF3 characters could disappear, and many of the weaker ones from Z3 - there are so many good characters with unique playstyles that endless shotokans or minor variation characters can easily be droppped. Capcom should focus on improving characters that have great potential, like Gen, Rolento, Guy etc. Capcom did well with characters they adapted from other series (incorporating both Rolento and Guy's movements and attack patterns into the SF universe can only be applauded), and should concentrate on this originality.

Also, they should be championing characters like Karin, Makoto and Gen: true originals with real power and potential. In short, Capcom should up the resolution, drop the huge ranks of shotokans and really flesh-out their most prized assets in the form of their more unique and stylish entrants.

I'd like a SF4 with only 12 characters. They'd have to really revamp the way characters play -- no more picking Ryu or Ken and clocking the game on your first go. Like Garou: Mark of Wolves did with the Fatal Fury series they need to bring in fresh ideas.

They should start with a clean slate. Completely new sprites, a new art direction and cutting edge 2d technology.

That's exactly what they did with SF3

No, I agree with you there, pretty much. Perhaps my idea should form what could be SFZ4, and yours could be SF4? Together, we've got it sewn-up. Capcom should be paying us.

Only one thing I'd disagree on: I'd keep Ryu there, as he 'is' Street fighter.

I'd like a completely brand new franchise to come in, be utterly superb and successful, not to mention stir up some really big trouble among the older heads in the genre.

Absolutely, Sammy showed up Capcom with their GGX games. Capcom seemed content to trot out perfectly good games but the whole series was starting to feel tired. Third Strike was awesome, and CvS2 gets a lot of play from myself thanks to X-Box Live support but GGXX is easily the 2D fighter that I play most at the moment.

As you say, 'stylised' is the greatest way to put it. It has the technical system depth that made traditional Street Fighters so good, yet also has an OTT-ness of the Versus games butthe two styles don't seem to clash and the result is a superb piece of gaming entertainment.

In fact, I believe GGXX's following in Japanese arcades is phenomonal.

As for what Capcom should do next. I think Treble's idea is pretty much on the money.

Ah, but I didn't say Capcom weren't creating anything new, did I?

I merely proposed that it be interesting if they created a franchise which hasn't already been invented in the future.

                                That's my get out clause...
