    _____________

Not the definite launch line up for both consoles in the US, but more speculation.

Considering i don't own a next gen console yet, there would be several games i''d be interested in for the PS3:

    Resistance: Fall of Man
    Call of Duty 3
    Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
    Ninja Gaiden Sigma
    Ridge Racer 7
    Rainbow Six: Vegas
    F.E.A.R.

Looking at the speculative Wii launch, there's not one game there that makes you (me) want to splash out ?180 for, plus any multiformat game on the Wii will be a dumbed down version of the PC/PS3/Xbox 360 version.

If the handling of Excitetruck is anywhere near as perfect as Excitebike64, then it's killer app for me (yes, that's probably a little odd). But overall the list is pretty dull. I'm looking for Wii exclusive games really. Although a friend who played Rayman at Leipzig said it was fantastic.

I think that if you own a PC/Xbox 360 just now, there would be nothing much on the PS3 just now to validate a purchase, but anyone like myself that don't own a next gen console then the games i pointed out above would almost justify getting the system for.

Need for Speed Carbon - Electronic Arts (800,000)
800,000 sales when there's only going to be 500,000 systems available Worldwide?

Isn't Ninja Gaiden Sigma planned for Q1 2007?

Anyway, this is what I'd be looking at if I was getting either of them at launch:

            Resistance: Fall of Man
            Call of Duty 3
            Tony Hawk's Project 8
            The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
            Rainbow Six: Vegas
            F.E.A.R.

            Wii Sports
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
            Excite Truck
            Trauma Center: Second Opinion
            Red Steel

Both lists seems fairly unexciting to me. Five out of the six PS3 titles I'm interested in are on the 360 and I'm still unsure whether to pick up a Wii at launch. What happened to consoles launching with real triple-A exclusives?

Thing of the past. Seems as though just making sure it launches in November/December is more important these days.

There is too many of them!
I hate buying games after the release date!

I can't really remember many times when that's ever happened...
The western Dreamcast release is the only one that springs to mind, but that had a year to builld up some titles.

Halo (Xbox), Super Mario 64 (N64), Super Mario World (SNES), Soul Calibur (DC), Super Mario Bros (NES), and Tetris (GB) were all launch titles that for a lot of people could justify the purchase of the machine alone. I remember the surprise that the GameCube wasn't launching with a Mario game back in 2001 because that was almost unthinkable.

I miss the old trend. You could buy a new console and have something really tangible to show for it instead of a lot of potential and promises.

Well for me when it comes to launches its all down to the system specific titles

So many games on those lists i would just ignore

Still it does puzzle me why they just cannot have a load of great games at launch (if the cube had zelda/mario/metroid/fzero at launch i would class that as the best launch line up ever)

looking at the wii list stuff like Elebits - Konami
                        The Ant Bully - Midway m (100,000)
The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy- Midway (50,000)
                        Happy Feet- Midway (100,000)
Rampage: Total Destruction - Midway (50,000)
Avatar: The Last Airbender - THQ (200,000)
                        The Barnyard - THQ (200,000)
                        Disney's/Pixar's Cars - THQ (300,000)
SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab - THQ (300,000)
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance - Activision (200,000)
Rapala Tournament Fishing ? Activision (50,000)
                        Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam - Activision (300,000)
World Series of Poker - Activision (50,000)
                        Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 - Atari (200,000)

are not the sort of stuff i would buy a console for (thats a personal preference thing though)

Wii Sports, that Tecmo Golf game, Trauma Centre Second Opinion and Wii Play are reason enough for me to get a Wii ^_^ they're all launch titles in one territory or another too.

Well i'd definitely be interested in Ninja Gaiden Sigma, but I really don't see this being a launch title, surely we would have seen a little more of it. Other than that Oblivion and COD3 would be nice but they aren't exclusives.

For Wii, Zelda is the obvious choice. Rayman, Excitetruck and Red Steel also look top-notch. And Trauma Center, Far Cry, Elebits and COD3 might also be worth a look.

But I agree, no triple AAA titles on either list other than Zelda. What happened to the Wii launch, not that it's bad at all but it was looking fantastic up until about a month ago with Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 and Smash Bros all looking to be possible launch titles.

I'm really looking forward to the Wii Launch I'm looking to get: Zelda, Wii Play, Trauma Centre, Elebits, Excite Truck, Monkey Ball, Red Steel and possibly Rayman.

There are no titles for PS3 that tickle my interest yet.

I'm hoping Nintendo sees sense and releases WarioWare for Launch, this has the potential to be the best yet and would be a great game for people to get to grips with the new controller.
