Isn't the point of the Wii controller for people to pick up the controller and play intuitively. If the general public (or gamers) need to "get to grips" with the new controller then it kind of defeats the purpose of the controller in the first place!?

Strange you should say that, because (going by current EA sports games at the least) I'd say the 360/PS3 versions would be most likely to have features removed, etc. The Wii as it is will probably get the best 'next gen' versions of the 3 in many cases. (As long as I can use a GC controller for them)

OK, let me get this straight. Your saying the Wii will have the best versions of the 3 because of the controllers features, but you want to use the GC controller to play them? That's ****ed up, dude!

Not because of the controllers features. I mean FIFA '07, for example, has been heavily cut on the 360. If it was being released on Wii then I doubt that would happen, with the whole 'being pretty much a GC' crap.

But this is waaaay off topic

From what I've heard gamers are at a disadvantage because they have to fight habits built up from years of using controllers. The general public aren't really going to have preconceived notions of how a game should play, or at least not to the extent that we are.

I think it was on the latest 1UP Yours that someone said that as a Madden fan they had trouble getting to grips with the Wii version. Someone else who didn't play it often got the hang of it much faster.

I do think my years of playing games the standard way with controls might be a problem

If i was to get a very addictive game for the WII that uses the controller well then it will probably kill my hands and arms

I was playing donky kong jungle beat for the cube with the bongo controller and i can only play for around 30min as my hands ache afterwards

Trauma Centre on Wii - what do folks reckon are the chances of me grabbing this on the day of launch in the UK? Will be gutted if I can't.
