    Game of the Year 2023: Round One

    We're now into December and the time has come to begin looking back over the course of the year to review what we've played and single out the very best of the best. Here is the first round on our journey through twelve months of releases and as there are still a few precious weeks of play time till new year and still a handful of titles yet to launch feel free to hold off your vote till a later date or to choose your prized choice if you already know it.

        I love games, personally. I just haven't played that particular one. Lots of good games around and a big backlog mean I'm unlikely to play it any time soon too. Street Fighter 6, on the other hand, I played quite a lot of and it's probably going to end up being my GOTY. Horses for courses, innit.

          Alan Wake 2 and Baldur's Gate 3 are clearly the front runners out of this lot but I've played neither. My bad.

                I've got through what I'll be able to from this round and despite how it took a few hours to win me over the answer is easily Alan Wake II
