    Call of Duty 3 (360)

A few minutes ago I got a call from a lady who works at activision to tell me that I won a competition on xbox.com to play Call of duty 3. So tomorrow I'll be heading down to the Activision headquaters for an exclusive playtest.

The thing is I've never played Call of Duty 2 so won't really know whats improved or changed. If there is anything I should look out for when playing the game or questions you might have let me know and I'll see if I can find out the answer once I've had a playtest

Download the demo on marketplace now and get yourself clued up.

I'd like you to ask them why they decided to focus purely on the console market with COD3 after COD was born and raised on the PC.

Did IW not make CODII on the 360, I'm sure they did, and hence the confusion why they are not involved with CODIII.

Im not sure if they did the port as I got it on pc.
The pc was the lead system and it was ported to the 360, running it on a twin processor machine with ht on both processors and a 6800gt my rig destroys the 360 version.

Im not buying CODIII due to treyarch making it

Im not a big WWII fan but I am a big IW fan, would I buy Barbie goes shopping if Infinity Ward made it ? I would look at the reviews at least.
Im sick of WWII weapons they have all done this war to death and need to move on.

As for treyarch they have only made one game I thought was ok (spiderman 2 xbox) but look at the church video for COD3 and watch the rubble from the bell tower dissapear as it falls ! that sucks and takes me fully out of the game.

Yes IW did do the 360 version of COD2.

I've got high hopes for this even if it's only the online side - from teh vids I've seen and Edge magazines glowing preview last month I don't think we've anything to worry about.

PS3 owners on the other hand..........

From what I've read, I'm concerned.
Aiming now has this focus feature which blurs your peripheral vision and makes it difficult to target anything that is not already in your sights and also complaints of the contols feeling off.

Multiplayer maps were also described as being designed around 12 vs 12 and are totally unsuitable for smaller matches which I will predominately play such as 4 vs 4 and 2 vs 2. Large maps with small groups in this game just doesn't work as its not the type of game that lends itself to a complete frag-fest with everyone running everywhere.

                    Will wait and see.

The console versions (Big Red One, and the one before) weren't great, but they weren't poor either. Even CoD2 wasn't that amazing, with too much scripting, but it was still a blast to play.

I'll never get bored of WW2 shooters, they always convay such a sense of dread and mortality. It's a shame they never\rarely go into the human side of things though, only Brother in Arms attempts it. Still want Band of Brothers: The Game

Out of curiosity if this game is due out in what just over 2 weeks? why isnt there a playable demo on the marketplace? I would have thought that the game would be fully finished now so the cd printing etc could take place to get enough copies out to meet the demand that no doubt there is.

Just interesting that there can be demos of games that are close to a year away from relase ( Lost Planet) and recently Rainbow six demo'd and its out end of next month about 2 weeks after COD3 will be released.

Maybe its the fact that they know the market is chomping at the bit for the game and theres no need to get a demo out to get interest. But I just dont know, seems strange to me as they could surely improve sales even more by getting the peeps who might not have touched these types of games interested with a demo a few weeks before release.

Marketplace is a bit of a two-edged sword though isn't it? I'm thankful it's in place no doubt, there's games I noramlly would have purchased but playing the demo's I held off.

A demo of COD3 does make sense though. It's too close to Gears of War. I hear the UK release has been put 1 week forward, the US one hasn't. With GoW, COD3 needs all the help it can get, cos I, like some others no doubt, don't have $120 to blow on 1 week of videogames!

Well I reckon they've had the game ready, and could have spent the time making a demo and bringing thegame out when it was due on the 17th/24th Nov. Or they thought, lets work our asses off and get it out before Gears of War and R6 and push the date forward to Nov 10th instead. Which I am over the moon with.

Next month is going to be shooter-tastic! What with this, GoW, R6 and FEAR all coming out within weeks of each other. It's going to be a costly month that's for sure.
