    Your Gaming Collection: 2025 Edition

The last time this thread ran I opened it by saying that they are never as frequent as I feel they are.

Here we are again and somehow an entire four years has passed!

    Same as it ever was:

What gaming related hardware and peripherals do you have in your collection in 2025?

    #2
I’ve gone from no I’m not collecting anything to full ham I’m back in the game late last year and this year. But it’s all PS4, PS5 & Switch, stuff I can play on current consoles.

Given that it’s a lock that Switch 2 is BC, and we can expect PS6 to be BC with at least PS5 games I’m pretty happy building my physical collection up again.

Very little now. I had to move house during the covid lockdown and flipped a loft full of stuff on Ebay
Got my own place in the end and am enjoying a clutter free life (small house). Mainly PC gaming these days. But I do miss certain things that cant be well emulated, such as 3DS games. I`m doing some traveling this year so a 3DS and Phantom Hour Glass is on my revisit list for starters.

After we all lost Fuse this week, it made me melancholic for many reasons but it took me back to when this Forum was in it's golden era back in the early 00's and god, I had so much stuff! So many consoles, handhelds, PC's, Arcade Sticks, import console double up's, I just had it all. Now my collection is a shadow of its former self, but that's mainly because emulation is now so bloody good, I just don't need multiple machines like I used to.

So in some ways, I'm far happier in that I have less clutter, but seeing Speedy's post above, it makes me smell the dust coming off that hot Mega Drive processor. And I want some original hardware.

Here's my state of the collection in the year of our lord, 2025.
          • Playstation 5 - Digital (Over 50 Digital Games)
          • Nintendo Switch OLED (Over 50 Digital Games)
          • Steam Deck OLED (512Gb - Over 200 Digital Games + 400 Emulated Games)
          • 8Bitdo Pro 2 Controller
          • SEGA Astro City Mini
          • SNES Mini
          • PlayStation Mini
          • 11 Physical Switch Games (Mostly Sealed as they're for collection purposes. I know.)
          • Black & White II (PC) and Fable II (Xbox 360) - 2 Games I'm most proud of working on.
          • Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2 - Signed by Hideo & Yoji) / Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (MD) (2 Games I could never let go)

2x Netbook PC's (for basic office stuff)
1x Mini PC connected to a vertical 4:3 monitor

            Super Famicom
            Nintendo 64
            Nintendo Wii
            PC Engine with CD interface
            Xbox 360

As for accessories, I have everdrives for the Super Famicom, PC Engine and Master System (which I converted to work on a Japanese system).
I have the Neo SD and Mega SD from Terra Onion for the Neo Geo and Mega Drive.
A Chinese Everdrive clone for the N64, a Saitator for my Saturn and a GD EMU for the Dreamcast.
The original PS2 runs games from the HDD.

            Handhelds
            Nintendo DS
            Nintendo GBA
            Game Gear Micro

Got a load of Joysticks and controllers too but I won't mention them otherwise this post will be 5 pages long.

            I think that's about it 😅

Burnt my og collection in around 2008, and since 2015 or so I've been rebuilding. Still buying systems, recently had a run in with a non working famicom disk system that I've returned so unsure if famicom adventure will continue, so currently

              PC Engine Core Grafx
              PC Engine Super Grafx
              Avenue pad 3 and 6
              Micosoft XE joystick

              Victor Saturn MK2
              Sega Megadrive Asian
              Sega Megadrive 2 Japanese
              Japanese arcade stick

              Super Famicom

              SNK Neo Geo home system

              Playstation multi region
Ps2 with free mcboot currently dead

              Panasonic 3DO FZ-10

Egret mini / track ball controller

Gaming PC 1440p 165hz monitor + 4:3 rotatable LCD for mame.

I'm still sticking to a leaner line up, it balloons a little when I'm weak but things tend to get sold off again one their moment passes. As things stand though:

                PC
Ryzen 9 CPU, RTX 3080ti, 32GB Ram - White Xbox Elite 2 Controller with Blue sticks, paddles etc

                Nintendo Switch
                OLED - Fortnite Joy Cons

                Asus
                Rog Ally X

                Meta
                Quest 3

                Nintendo WiiU
32GB Model - With Mario Edition Wii Remote

                Playstation 5
Pro - With Cobalt Blue and Astro Bot additional controllers and PSVR Headset with Motion Controllers

                PlayStation 3
                Original model design

The kids also have a standard Nintendo Switch, a Nintendo Switch Lite Hyrule Edition and Nintendo 2DS

We still have my 2010 Samsung 3D TV which still works fine, has two sets of active shutter glasses and two sets of kids active shutter glasses. It's set up in the kids room as their TV but there's no room for the PS3 so it's rendered useless for revisiting that function as their's no room downstairs either with all the TV space taken up by the living room 75 incher.

As a solution to this I've ordered a Sony HMZ-T2 headset which will allow direct from the console stereoscopic 3D.

I sometimes have to fend off the temptation to get some old system hardware, not to use but to put away for a future retro display. Figured it would be cheap enough to do because I wouldn't need working units but I don't think I can get the idea past the missus

I decided to downsize a bit and only keep the hardware I use the most, even upgraded to join the current gen after procrastinating over it for years.

                      • Playstation 5
                      • Playstation 3 Slim (Had since they were launched, longest I've ever owned a console)

                      • MacBook Pro which I use for emulation of pretty much all the retro systems I love apart from the main one.

                      • PC-Engine with CD-Rom2 and IFU-30 set up inc Arcade Card Pro.
                      • PC-Engine Core Grafx with Super HD System 3 (This is the one I use the most as it has the entire library I want to play installed)
                      • PC-Engine Core Grafx 2 with Super CD-Rom2
                      • PC-Engine Avenue Pad 6

In light of the passing of Fuse recently, I've made my wife aware of this site as I've amassed quite a big PCE collection again. She's aware of the value as I've kept a little spreadsheet with what I've paid for everything, but she wouldn't have the first clue what to do with it all. Weird the conversations we're having to have as we get older.

Going to have to try to do this from memory as 90% of my collection is still sealed up in box mountain since i moved err a year ago. Hey i move slowly ok it'll get released sometime this next decade. I don't have a huge amount of system variety anymore it's either playstation or nintendo stuff.

I did downsize my retro stuff last year mainly due to having ODEs and flashcarts for most systems plus the sheer amount of systems available to me via the MiSTer.

At present my list of gaming gear is this little lot:

                              MiSTer.
                              Panasonic FZ-1 with ODE.
                              Panasonic FZ-10 PAL.
                              Dreamcast with ODE.
                              Dreamcast region free.
                              PS2 with HDD.
                              Wii.
                              Vectrex.
                              Analogue MVS.
                              ZX Spectrum Next.
Sega Saturn Mk.II white with ODE.
                              Xbox modded.
                              Egret Mini thingy.
Famicom (patiently waiting for Chouyoku Senki Estique!)

                              Analogue Mega SG.
                              Analogue Super NT.
                              Analogue Duo.
                              Analogue Pocket.
                              Switch OLED.
                              Xbox 360 PAL.
                              Xbox 360 JP.
                              Xbox Series X.
                              PS5 and PSVR2.
