doujin side-scrolling brawlers aka beat 'em ups

i'm a gigantic beat 'em up fan (not versus fighters. which are what beat 'em ups are widely referred as in the UK) and i'm looking for any doujin side-scrolling brawlers already made or in development. remember, these are final fight/streets of rage style games...not like street fighter, tekken, etc.

Ragnarok Battle Offline! I'm not sure if it's quite what you're looking for as it's more Guardian Heroes than Final Fight, but it's by French Bread (the same guys who did Melty Blood) and it's excellent. Theres a couple of youtube videos that show the sort of thing you can do in it.

Wasn't that a tactical RPG? Or was there another Utawarerumono game?

There was an official Utawarerumono SRPG, but Utawarerumono Battle is an unofficial dojin game (at least I think it is).
