Huge apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but a) I haven't got time to read through all the other PS3 threads and b) I think it's worth it's own thread.
Basically, 5Live news have reported this morning (amazingly as part of the actual daily news along with stuff about the Iraq war and so on), that Sony have revealed that the PS3 is not 100% backwards compatible.
Was this common knowledge amongst people here already and have I just missed it (probably the case) or is this actually 'news'?
Do we know the approximate percentage of old PSone/PS2 games which won't work and will they work incorrectly or not at all?
Is there the (realistic) possibility of future updates or individual software emulation a la 360 to fix these issues?
I appreciate that the sheer volume of old PlayStation titles would make it very hard to fully test everything, and also that this is not the main reason that people are interested in the PS3, but I feel that it's an 'issue' nonetheless.
