What game did you never get round to finishing/playing but you wish you had?

Mine is The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. Never got round to it in my younger days. I loved Super Mario 64 to bits and it's still my favorite game of all time. But you hear alot of people saying that their favorite game is Zelda OOT.

So when Wind Waker came out I made sure I finished it and I loved it so much it made me think that I must have missed out big time on Zelda OOT.

I could play OOT now but there wouldn't be any nostalgia there for me because I didn't play it back then. Although from what I've played of it I know I would have loved it back then. Im gonna make sure Zelda TP gets done because it looks ace!

Yoshi's Island on the SNES. Got the DS Version coming but never played the original. I'm going to pick up the original at some point after hearing so many glowing reviews etc. Is the later GBA Port any cop or should I go for the SNES Original?

FF7 always got to the same bit, cant remember the monster but it was about 15 hours in or something, it was near where you found vincent in the mansion. Only 6 months after selling the console relising it was optional finally got a copy of it on the PC got about 12 hours in close to where i got last time, but my HD curruptedft: so had one last try but the game crashed at the same bit during a cut scene everytime, bloody bad thing was the fact it was after a 20minute boss fight after 5 trys got pissed of and unistalled it. will plan on completing one day honest

Oblivion. Ever since I got knocked off my stride when I stopped playing due to one too many crashes/frequent stuttering I've been starting/re-starting and leaving it ten or so hours in. I don't like coming back to the game puncturing the pace of the main story - I suppose there's too much going on with other titles right now.

I have completed four games lately though in the shape of SC: DA, CoD 3, Fear and Prey which isn't bad going by my standards. I'm going through Ghost Recon at the minute but I feel I'm going to give up on it and it'll become one of those games I never get around to finishing - the checkpoint system (or lack there of) is too frustrating - reminds me of an early Splinter Cell in how it's trial and error in places. I haven't the patience these days for that.

Another game I never got around to finishing was Vagrant Story - another game I absolutely loved (recently tried again) for ten hours but then just hit a wall on its difficulty curve.

Apart from that... Wind Waker. I got 20 hours into that but the endless sea fairing bored me too much. I've not touched it lately (even though I've thought about it) because I don't want to get series fatigue before Twilight Princess comes out. Might after though.

Oblivion for me also, and I hate the fact I've stopped playing it. I don't think I've been as hyped for a game ever and I promised to myself I wouldn't stop until everything was 100%. But here I am, with it on my shelf, and only '50%' complete.

Wasn't entirely my fault - my 360 died near release - but that is no excuse. I've tried to get back into it a few times but I find it too clunky. I'll be buying the addon next month though, so hopefully that'll help me along.

Shenmue II

Fumbled around with the JP version for a few hours when it first came out, but I've never touched it since then. No excuse for me not playing it either as I've now got a PAL version sitting here.

MGS2, Wind Waker and Metroid Prime are other games I really liked, yet never bothered to finish (so far).

Final Fantasy 9

I'd been playing the game for ages, gotten to disc 3 and had a memory card corruption issue losing my saves. I never did get around to restarting it, even though I'd been enjoying playing it.

Lemmings 2 : the Tribes. Back in the 90's, I had a gold medal on 11 out of the 12 tribes, and was on the last level of the 12th needing to save 1 more lemming to complete the entire game fully.

Then my save file got corrupted and wouldn't load.

For me it would have to be Skies of Arcadia on the DC, put in hours, but was finally overcome by the constant randomn battles, especially on the flying sections, drove me to despair. Not returned to it since.

But I'm going to opt for Oddworld : Strangers Wrath. Top game, some of the best art direction and FMV I've still ever seen, utterly tremendous engine and fantastic gameplay and thinking about it now I don't actually know why I didn't see it through - I think I was still playing when 360 turned up and then I formatted the xbox1 when I installed a new HDD and didn't want to start from scratch.

Zelda: Majora's mask; I really regret never properly playing the game, it supposed to be totally excellent, just around that time I got my DC with SoulCalibur ....

Sonic & Knuckles is the only one I can think of.

I havent completed Final Fantasy VIII, Resi 0 and countless others but I think Sonic & Knuckles is the only game I havent completed but want to get round to.

Definatley Final Fantasy 7, ive tried of 3 seperat occaisons but i jus cant get into it. Its so........ slow........ i want to experience what others peeps keep talkin about, but i cant cos its jus too passe (Sp). Sigh........... Im still hoping for a remake of it like Biohazard remake, then i can finally get to taste whateveryone else seems to have, and still love.

Shenmue 2 I had about an hour or 2 left of that yet never bothered to go back to it.......
FF8 I'm one of those odd people who adored 8 and the junctioning system, but after 3 attempts at that final battle and then getting killed by the 2nd to last form everytime.....Gave up. Have since seen the ending though.....
FF9 For some reason I never played it. Wish I could but my poor eyes just don't get fuzzo PS1 ovision these days........

Oblivion

I played a little on the 360, but then really put some hours in on the PC version.

I just never "Clicked" with the game, a game that got 10/10 on here, and felt so frustrated with myself! I honestly felt I was just being told, "Go to A, wait/kill B, Go to C" & I know the game would never have scored so highly if it wasn't more to it than that. I also hated these oblivion gates, where I ended up lost running round Quake3 lava levels. I missed the "Soul" of the game, and feel I missed out on a masterpiece.

Alternativly it could just be I'm more for blowing **** up (Or doing a capcom, as some fellow online friends seem to have taken to saying) rather than RPG'ing. Maybe if I had an M16/203 combo in Oblivion, I would have managed it.

Ah well. Maybe I'll manage it one day....
