Yes. To some extent. The Wii is just a beefed up GC with some flash RAM, Wi-Fi and a new controller. At ?179 Nintendo will be making some good money out of the hardware.
Compared to a 360 core pack it really doesn't look like good value when you consider how much more poweful the 360 is.

The main reason for the high price is because retailers moaned like f*ck at not getting a big enough cut at a price tag of nearer ?100.
