    Questions for UK Importers

Hi, I got my PS3 today and have a few questions that i cant seem to find anywhere else.
    • Can we buy anything from the online store ?? If so how ?? I dont want to have to get a US/JAP credit card, or do you just need a US/JAP address ?
    • Did everyone use a regular PC lead ?? I have but i just want to be extra sure its safe
    • Whats your favourite game from launch ?

Thanks, All feedback is much appreciated. Owners only please due to confliciting reports.

      I got mine as well

By the way, hi all, just joined this superb forum!

I got a 20gb and a 60gb version, planed to sell them both, but gonna keep the 60gb version and sell the other one.

Answer to your questions, I've red so many reports that the console has a universal power supply, so sure your ok there. I got a 500w step down from play asia

Haven't bought nowt from the online store, just free downloads, motor storm looks good.

The launch games all look dryer than a rich tea biscuit, have got ridge racer but not even opened it yet! Am waiting for the killer apps. Gonna use it as a blu-ray player for now.

Sorry couldn't really answer your questions.

does anyone know nwhy the heck we get a green screen for the dvd's

Here's a question for UK owners of JAP PS3s...

Can you update the firmware of the Jap PS3 using the US firmware? Does this essentially turn the console into a US PS3?

        Thx!

If it's anything like the PSP, the firmware versions from various regions will be identical. If anyone happens to have both versions downloaded run an MD5 check on them and see.

Stuff like the region coding isn't stored in the firmware so you won't be able to get at that. As far as I know even with all the hacking that's been done to it, nobody's managed to change the region for UMD movies on a PSP.
