Its a household name already and its not even out over here! I feel like a ****ing geek if I say 'Xbox 360' or 'Playstation 3' infront of a woman. But they get ever so slightly aroused when I mention 'Wii', I can tell.

Have to say that Wii works me too. Especially as I can have Mii in my Wii
To be honest, when I first heard about the distinct lack of power under the bonnet of the "Revolution" I was concerned, but then I saw how Ninty have, basically, done exactly the same thing with the DS. I had HUGE reservations about the DS touch screen working and becoming little more than a gimmick, but a year or so down the line, I absolutely love my 3 DS's. Graphics do make me want to play games (Gears of War being one prime example) but, if you can get into the mindset that it is about having fun then you will come over to the belief that Wii will be a storming addition to the next gen.

The name never bothered me, made me laugh if anything.
But I do still see it becoming the console the other kids take the piss out of you for owning. Like the gamecube was when it first came out and I was back at school.
I like what nintendo is going for, but I think they could have come up with a similar title that didn't lead to all the rediculous jokes.
But as people have said, it beats Playstation 3, or Xbox 360.

Still think it sounds cack. The reasoning behind it is stuck up its own arse. The double 'ii' for a 'ee' sound is wrong. And, on top of all that, it still sounds like piss. Telling my wife I want a Wii for my birthday brought up a whole set of issues I didn't think I'd have to get into. The fact that it comes with Wii Sports didn't help. What I watch in porn and what I want to experience first hand are two different things.
Just as well the console itself seems to be in good shape.Last edited by Dogg Thang; 26-11-2006, 11:37.

I always wanted the Cube to be called Dolphin and was kinda disheartened when they changed it to cube - But now I can't see how it could have been called anything but "Gamecube" - from the bootup sequence to the front end it's just strikingly obvious.
This one I think revolution might've been the better name BUT it wouldn't (imo) have seeped into the public consciousness the way this has.
I've seen articles in most major newspapers and heard them talking about it on TV and radio and nobody is making the obvious jokes - It's very, very strange.
Looks like this time the games & hardware will do the talking - Yay to that.
