    manhattan madness

id been to the nintendo store a couple of times to look for wiis but they never had any. they get shipments in every day but the guy said u need to get their early "what, like 8 o clock?" i said. "no, like 3 or 4 am" !!!

i assumed he was exagerating, but still i went to the coyote ugle bar till 4am then headed over, assuming i would be first in the queue, only to find about 60ppl already there. by 6am there were hundres of ppl right down the block and by 8am, when the the store opened, i darent think how many ppl were actually i the queue. apparently its been like this EVERY DAY since launch. i was stunned its like launch day every day there. even the toys r us store had a massive queue of ppl outside, presumable for the same thing. insane i tells u! still, at the current exchange rate the games worked out about ?27 or so, bargain! i got zelda, red steel, dbz and monkeyball, i also got cod3 and trauma center from a gamestope later on (and elite beat agents)

That sounds like my experience at Bic Camera in Yurakucho. People start queing up at 10am when it opens just for the chance to grab a Wii. That's how I got mine. The staff used a loud hailer to tell people that they might not get any in and to use the online service instead but the line didn't budge as people are not clueless as Bic have been selling them every day this week. Though when asked they will deny that the have any, the little liars.

Constant queues for Wii! Japan had better get used to it because it's the only way to get one. The buzz around this thing is huge and I honestly think that the DS connection had paid off big time for Nintendo as the people buying it are mostly non gamer types. I can really see really see them grabbing top market share in their home territory this gen.

Wow. I was there over the launch weekend, and queued up at Toys 'r' Us for the midnight opening on the 18th/19th. I can tell you, that from that Saturday to the Monday, people were queueing all day long then to get one - can't believe they still are!

There were about 20 people queuing on the Friday each at TrU and the Nintendo World store - so this has been happening since the 17th November!
