I've set mty wii to run at 60Hz instead od 50Hz. is that better? I have a startard but modern widescreen CRT tv which i know have both 50Hz and 60Hzs

Setting the machine at 60hz is the right choice. The games that support 60hz, which are the majority, will run just as the developer intended.

50hz is only for people with really old tv's.

60hz looks TERRIBLE on my Samsung LCD, but is that because it's running on composite?

same here Jebus, strangely 50hz looks great though. 60hz has so much blur and ghosting it looks horrendous.

im happy to play at 50hz until i can get a component cable for now.

my gamecube looked awful at 60hz through rgb on my samsung lcd but amazing through component

PAL Zelda actually seems to fill the whole screen at 576i so I'm using that, as it's higher resolution than 480i.

Is this just a Samsung thing?

I think it is a "used to so much better thing".

My Toshiba LCD looks super **** in composite too. My wife just saw me playing Zelda and asked "why are you playing such an old game when you've just got a new console". She was shocked when I told her it was the new console.

My wife said the same thing and I think she has a point. I knew the graphics would not be up to 360 standards but I have to ask myself was I expecting them to be this far below ?

your need progresive leads if you use a hi def tv to get a good picture 60 hz will be crap with the ccrap leads you get with the wii.

compontent or vga is the way to go then you can use 420p wich give twice as meany line in the picture.

there is a big change in zelda with the compont leads its so much sharper.
