Speculation -> Further delay for the PS3 - Any press release anywhere?

The reason i'm asking this, is my father went into a sony store recently while buying his new bravia TV, and said in casual conversation that he can't wait for a PS3 to come out to match his new sony telly, only to be told that it's now been delayed until November 07.

Has anybody heard anything about this? As far as i'm aware it was still down for March in Europe.

      Sony UK.
“We're 100 percent on track for a March release.”

That was in reply to the rumour that started cause of what was said by Phil Harrison about the european launch...
"Given that all of our previous statements about launching in Europe simultaneously with the US and Japan turned out not to be the case, I would not like to make any definitive statements on the European launch.”

      Only 3 months to go.....maybe.
Dont think its gonna happen though, delayOrama.

Spring 2007 and March have been mentioned by Sony.

That March date was from the head of Sony UK
The same guy who said that the Pal Ps3's would be the first off the production line.
Sony Jap will give the date and stock numbers all the UK office does is market it when and how they are told.

That may be the case (or perhaps someone took journalistic license?). Unless the bloke down the Sony Centre has a direct line to Sony HQ in Japan I'd tend to go with what Phil Harrison has said 'til something more concrete is announced. Probably based on pure speculation on a slow day.....

Sony may be commercially stupid at times but I don't think they'd make the mistake of delaying the Euro launch 'til November.....April/ May perhaps if there are any production delays etc.

Sony Stores are just franchises. They know diddly squat about anything - especially Sony related stuff.

Tbh i have a feeling they will either delay it again very close to march as to keep those sony fans hanging on or it will be a ghost launch with 100k units for the whole of europe.

When the Pink PS2 and PSP got announced, I had the feeling that the PS3 would be delayed.

I dont think it would be delayed this time. European and Australian residents can sign up to the PlayStation Network and they mention March 07 as the date of launch, where in March is the question

I've heard a couple of shops saying that they doubt it'll make it here in March, at least not in enough numbers to make it anything more than a paper launch. They're probably right - they don't need the negative PR of delaying it again so it'll make March, but when they can't manufacture nearly enough for the US and Japan at the moment they'll struggle to divert large numbers to Europe.

                      PAL PS3 delayed again ?

Dunno if its true or not ????

"Well, nobody believed me when I said it was going to be March, but now the latest I am hearing is August or even September release for UK. Not as concrete as the March rumour was pre-xmas, but some serious weight behind it nonetheless."

This rumor was apparently denied according to Eurogamer - a further delay quite simply would NOT be to Sony's advantage.

Sony can't afford another delay. But to be honest, the brand is still strong in this country.

PSP sales are stronger here than anywhere else apparently, so I don't think Sony will have problems shifting machines over here at least.
