Just got my PS3 and currently playing through Resistance. I remember so much talk before launch about media functions etc but so far I haven't messed around with it much. Is there a guide anywhere for cool things to do apart from playing games?

Has anyone tried a different OS yet? is it worth doing?
Tried a few video files from gametrailers with no luck, is there a list of files the PS3 will play?
Hadn't really kept up to speed with the PS3 stuff during launch so I probably missed a lot of discussions.
