Playing through again

It may sound strange but I'm not sure if I will download SM64 (when I get my network cable) as I'm not sure I can face trying to get all the stars again! Oddly though I would still have a good go at the SNES Zelda.

So my question is how many of you have seen a Virtual Console release and while you love the game, can't face going back and doing it all again? Which games in your opinion are worth going back to and which feel like you've paid a few quid to get your old saves deleted?

I got Zelda & M64 and im LOVEING playing through them again....espesicially SM64's bitesize structure.....never get lost and don't know what to do...just turn on dip in and try to get a few stars. Not played it this much since back in the 90's

And no I have not bought a game from VC and can't face playing through it again, because If i didn't want to I wouldn't buy it.

Easy there! I wasn't complaining. That's what I meant though, were there games you loved in the past but now have chosen not to download.

Yeah, this is a good point. Games like Zelda require hours of play - if you've already done it once (in the case of Zelda, I've done it several times - on the SNES and GBA!) would you really do it again just cos it's on the VC?

That's what I'll be doing with M64 - I 120-starred it back in the day so I'm in no rush to burst through it; gonna do it in a nice leisurely fashion. Not really looking forward to Tick Tock Clock again though...

Yikes! I'd forgotten about that one! And the magic carpet level in the same room... I am looking forward to hearing the endless staircase music once again, i ran up it for ages just so i could listen to it's seemingly never ending ascendance.

When I first got my Wii, I bought every VC title I was interested in.... but I soon found I didn't really play them. Now I just buy them when I actually feel like playing them.

I don't know if I could bring myself to play through Resident Evil 2 and Goldeneye again.

God knows how many times I've shot the hat off that guy at the start of the facility level.

And this is why I won't be buying any games on the VC I already have, because I could just pull them out to replay if I wanted to. I'll be getting stuff I don't have, or wouldn't plan to get the format they are on. Still never know, I might buy a Megadrive in the future, but for now, I'll console myself (hah hah) with a couple of the VC titles for it.

I'm mostly gonna buy games I've never played especially if I've never heard of them like the PC Engine ones.

There's some I haven't played in years that I'd like to see again like Toejam & Earl but I can't see me buying any of the Marios or most of the Zeldas (I've not played a lot of Link to the Past). I won't have my old consoles with me when I move but I still don't think I'd rebuy anything I already have, if it's from my childhood/teens I'll have played it so much it'll still be too fresh.
