    GamesTM Issue 54

    Arrived this morning.

The PlayStation 3 launch will now be covered in Issue 55 (I'm sure they advertised it for this issue). The cover story and lead preview is Hellgate London. Features are as follows: Age Before Beauty, looking at different age groups playing games; Moving Pictures, a look at how physics in games; The Savious of Games TV?, all about videoGaiden/Consolevania; and finally, an interview with Greg Costikyan.

The main Retro artciles are Behind the Scenes Oddworld Abe's Oddysee, The Making of Impossible Mission and Collectors Spotlight: Metal Slug.

    Reviews:

    Crackdown 8
    Eledees 7
    Virtua Fighter 5 8
    Rocky Balboa 5
    Battlestations Midway 7
    Armoured Core 4 5
    Afterburner Climax 8
    Tekken 5 DR HD 8
    Pro Evo 6 DS 4
    Dragonball z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (Wii) 3
World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade 9
    Infernal 7
    Hotel Dusk Room 215 7
    Chili Con Carnage 5
    Formula One Championship Edition 5
    Supreme Commander 7
    Super Swing Golf 8

Personally, I'm glad that Crackdown is scoring well across the board, and I'm praying that SEGA will give Sumo the task of porting Afterburner Climax to 360 (pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease). Disappointed with Armoured Core 4 - after Lost Planet, I was looking forward to some giant robot action. Oh well.

Give AC4 a crack - it's really good, although the frame rate is a little slack in places.

I just thought it was strange - they raved about previous AC titles, so I just assumed that AC4 was a little broken.

The older games were reviewed by Ollie Barder who was a massive AC fan, however he has since stopped writing for gTM. I'd say from opinions elsewhere that if you liked the others you should enjoy this one too.

How does the Virtual Console Archive interview in this months Games TM look?

Can someone PM me if they can do me a quick scan! Of course I will be buying it on the 22nd when it's in the shops if Ash doesn't come through with our gratis copy before then!

An unfair score for Budokai, anyone who loves DBZ, as well as the previous Budokai games, will love it. And who else is it supposed to be targetting?

Another good issue this month. Interesting that the original (group) editor has returned, who mentions big changes are on the way.

                          Looking foward to this issue.

Only 8 for VF5?, thought it would get a 9.
And its nice to see AfterBurner Climax reviewed, I think hoping for it to show up on the consoles is asking too much tho.

Really ? Excellent, the quality might return to what it once was.

I dont feel it's too much to ask for. All of Sega's big arcade titles have been released in the home and with the strong Sumo connections, Sega's racing studio set up and Virtua Fighter 5 being released it should be heading our way soon.
