Sony and MM don't have a choice indeed, it's far better to be cautious than to be sued of course.
At the moment though if it pisses off the user who creates the content, in a content creatable game, you could end up losing some good levels and some good designers.
They need to get clear about this sooner rather than later, seems like the main issue people were having with Sony/MM was removing the entire level and leaving no feedback as to what the problem was, could be easily fixed.
Maybe they could introduce a proposel method, you create the level then you have to submit it for moderation, wait for it to be accepted or refused?
Im sure they will get around it all.

I know the issue and I know rights holders are funny about that sort of thing but applying it to another format - machima - do rights holders have such a problem with that?

Im really not feeling the urge to buy this anymore, while im sure its great and the user generated content is good, all the best stuff sounds like its being deleted already.
Why cant people make parodies of games even sony own and made? Everything is ridiculously censored these days and it will only hurt this game if it carries on there as well.
Can you download levels before there deleted or are they only playable off the servers?

To be honest I haven't even noticed anything being deleted - I still see Mirror's Edge stuff all over the place... I'm just a teeny bit happy that they're cracking down on using licensed stuff, as it was starting to look like nobody had any ideas of their own. Their must have been a million Mario levels up there (and there are still a good few, if they have been deleted).
The person who created the GoW level had a very good eye for puzzles and great obstacle course design. I'm sure he can do better (especially considering he made that out of the beta) next time, and he doesn't need to use someone else's character ideas to make it good.
The stuff that it does hurt is those levels who exist ONLY as parodies.. for example there's a wicker man level where you just fly over a big wicker man and that's it. Thing is, all he would have to do is change the title to something obscure - fans of the movie would still get it and would probably heart it even more for being subtle!

Looked on ebay...there are a few. I don't even know if we get that same one but a different publisher?
I haven't bonded with a game like this for years. Its great playing alone..but joining up and pissing around..then some seriousness..then some face pulling..bit of dragging and dancing, then a photo...its just amazing.
