Update: Media Molecule has released a statement noting that they have an official patch ready for day one, but "a decision was made within Sony that the right thing to do for quality and support of people with no on-line was to replace existing disks." The patch is still ready and the post suggests it will likely "go live at the same time as the game," which still has no new release date.

.. So theres a patch to fix it on day one, but we have to wait for all the people without internets. haha, they probably aren't even on the latest firmware in that case. ARggh

If you don't have internets why spend £300 on a machine...

While playing your latest game, "LittleBigPlanet" in the first level of the third world in the game (titled "Swinging Safari"), I have noticed something strange in the lyrics of the music track of the level. When I listened carefully, I was surprised to hear some very familiar Arabic words from the Quran. You can listen to part of the track here:

        The words are:
1- In the 18th second: "كل نفس ذائقة الموت" ("kollo nafsin tha'iqatol mawt", literally: 'Every soul shall have the taste of death').
2- Almost immediately after, in the 27th second: "كل من عليها فان" ("kollo man alaiha fan", literally: 'All that is on earth will perish').
I asked many of my friends online and offline and they heard the exact same thing that I heard easily when I played that part of the track. Certain Arabic hardcore gaming forums are already discussing this, so we decided to take action by emailing you before this spreads to mainstream attention.
We Muslims consider the mixing of music and words from our Holy Quran deeply offending. We hope you would remove that track from the game immediately via an online update, and make sure that all future shipments of the game disk do not contain it.
We would also like to mention that this isn't the first time something like this happened in videogames. Nintendo's 1998 hit "Zelda: Ocarina of Time" contained a musical track with islamic phrases, but it was removed in later shipments of the game after Nintendo was contacted by Muslim organizations. Last year, Capcom's "Zack & Wiki" and Activision's "Call of Duty 4" also contained objectionable material offensive to Muslims that was spotted before the release of the final games, and both companies thankfully removed the content.
We hope you act immediately to avoid any confusion and unnecessary controversy, and we thank you for making such an amazing game.
        Regards,
        NSider

The thread is probably going to move in this direction anyway, so I might as well break the ice and ask why specifically it is this one group that Sony has gone out of its way to cater to the minority beliefs of.

I can make a burning crucifix in this game, and then 'heart' it. how mad is that!

Normally, I wouldn't have cared all that much about this delay due to the fact that Fable 2 is still confirmed for release on the very same day.

Unfortunately, that phase of me not caring as since met a horrific end, much like my 360 and as such I won't be playing Fable 2 on that day either.

I cannot believe that lines from some book or another managed to make it past QA if it was picked up during beta testing and that the world needs to suffer for it.

              REALLY not happy...

Easy solution to this - a day one patch that LETS YOU CHOOSE to have the original song or a replacement. Easy. Anyone upset can then avoid it.

If MM and Sony knew about this to have a day 1 patch prepped and ready, why the cancellation so late in the date? They'll lose a lot of money on recall shipment, new pressing, shipping back, and potentially sales lost because of the delay - some people were waiting for a LBP packaged PS3, will they hold on to the money with so many other games grabbing their attention?

Let's hope Sony put a new Beta online to placate us.

A new beta would be good, provided they stop coming up with all new and retarded ways of distributing the codes.

What is someone without an internet connection doing with a PS3 anyway, sigh, and a game such as LBP that is pretty online centric too.

                    gargh

I was wondering if you are restricted to what people you can play with on depending on the region of your game. Would anyone be as kind to explain it to me. Please.[/quote]

                        Anyone...(sorry)

You were in the beta I think but I don't imagine that's the case with the full game.

It's gonna be confusing as hell for me LOL.
US PS3, UK copy of the game, playing on US account.

Don't even know for sure what store I should be using :P

For the majority of cases region of game = region of PSN store to get your downloads.

There's stories everywhere on the net now of people picking up copies from various outlets. This thing is out there now which makes the delay all the more ridiculous. If a patch is ready then it seems to pandering to a ridiculous extent to recall hundreds of thousands of pressed discs.
