LittleBigPlanet [PS3] - Out Now!

Awesome. They keep putting out DLC for the title, and have passed 1 million user levels now, which is insane.

Any ideas what the game sale figures are like these days? It's so cheap, but last I looked it wasn't selling hugely, which is a shame

I picked this up brand new for 8.98 including delivery. Probably the best gaming bargain I have ever had!

Actually, whatever happened on that front? The MGS levels were fun, then they just never put any more out?

I gave up on this too, personally I really don't feel this has panned out as I hoped, just endless ludicrously priced outfits.

Rewatching that trailer, it does't even suggest "levels" are a part of the DLC, just that it's a creator pack.

Would be an opportunity to get people like me playing it again...

I just peed myself (appropriately enough) watching that trailer. I was 100% certain that they wouldn't manage water in LBP until next gen


For people not into LBP this probably looks incredibly dull, but for me it's basically like Nintendo revealing the next Zelda is coming and Link is going to get a spaceship in it

It never ceases to amaze me how people continue to miss the entire point of LBP.

There is new stuff in LittleBigPlanet EVERY DAY, and it's all free. Complaints about lack of support/content are just bizarre.

Anyway, on the subject of this new element, it looks like another game changer in the same way the paintinator was - can't wait for it! Might give me the next bit of inspiration I need for my current half finished project

not sure people have missed the point, its just all a bit aimless from a playing only perspective.

I quickly got bored of trawling thru loads of random levels, that I was doing for no real purpose, seemed a bit of a waste of time.

I guess as a gamer I'm in the camp that need some motivation for doing something beyond the simple joy of playing, in that respect I don't believe LBP to be a good enough core platformer to merit playing just for fun, like you can in the best Mario games.

I think you've misunderstood my complaint totally, though I could have been clearer.

Whilst there is indeed new content every day, and indeed, that is the point. Some of it is utter crap. Buying new level packs like the MGS ones and you were guaranteed the highest possible quality, sometimes I don't have time to sit and go through thousands of levels to find a single good one that I'll play a few times and that's it, sometimes I want guaranteed quality.

You do admit you haven't played it in a while, the fact is that these days pretty much any level you choose is going to be excellent quality (assuming you use the search function correctly)... the crap is much harder to find now than it was when it all started.

I expect there will be levels to go along with the water tool, but I'm sure they will be purely to demonstrate some ideas of how it can be used. That's what pretty much all of the MM released stages have been for, even the MGS ones to a point.
