new posts

I've not played in months, lots of months. One of those games I've been meaning to play again, even got the (multiple) patches a week ago in anticipation of playing it again. I think when I patched it, it was the second time I'd ever patched it!

DO you have to buy the water pack to play other peoples water levels?

I'd imagine if it's DLC then yeah? As you'd need the graphics/etc to see them?

They haven't said yet but when they've released new packs in the past the game gets an update whether you buy them or so that you can play user created levels which use the new stuff.

Hoepfully it'll be the same with this pack too.

No. At least, that's not how any of the current DLC works.
If somebody builds a level using bits of DLC (ie the gun from the MGS pack), anyone can play that level and try all the stuff in it. The only restriction is that you can't save any Prize objects which use bits of DLC you don't own.

            edit: beaten!

This is understandable.. I can see why people get frustrated.
But believe me, the quality of user levels has gone through the roof over the past year. You need never play another bad level if you know where to look

The best way for "guaranteed quality" is to go to this page, and note anything you like the look of. That's where the LBP community collates the very best levels that appear online. There's also an archive of 250+ levels previously celebrated by the LBP community.
A lot of these will be as good as Media Molecule's own - and some are more original than anything you'll find in the base game.
Pick a handful, and sit down for an hour or 30 mins of top-notch gaming

(I know many people might find this process too clunky to bother with. and I agree, this sort of thing should be accessible from within the game. but MM are said to be working on a solution. In the meantime, you can very quickly start collecting a list of personal favorites You'll find there's too much good stuff to play!)

Don't suppose anyone knows how to reset your avatar in the infomoon area back to your PSN one.

Not really convinced that there is any need for this.

I think it adds a genuinely unique twist to co-op play, where one person is doing something completely different to the other to help them to the finish line.

It's probably worth pointing out that the code is for the US game version DLC and it's unfortunately not transferable from one region to another.

Oh. Doesn't DLC from the US work on the UK version? I'm running the promo version, will give it a try.
