I doubt even Edge's influence these days could possibly tame the 360 though. Shame about the DC, I loved it.

To attribute the fall of the DC to Edge (even in part) is, I think giving the magazine W-A-Y too much credit (impartiality notwithstanding).
As for 174... I obviously don't have it yet (not a subscriber) but I have been toying with the idea of leaving Edge alone and if -from a casual glance in the newsagents- there's nothing of interest in this new issue, I won't be buying it.
I've bought Edge religiously for the last 7 years, but I think it's time to vote with my wallet. As others have opined, the magazine's blatant impartiality (which I think started 2 years ago after that sudden, mysterious staff changeover) has truly gone beyond the joke. With regards to Sony, the bias almost borders on shocking (especially this side of an offical publication) - though they still do have their moments of even-handedness.
Also, as others have also stated, the reviews get sloppier by the issue and, outside of 'Something about Japan', 'Inbox', Jeff Minter and Biffo's columns, there's precious little else worth reading anymore.

Mind you that was nothing to the disgraceful way EDGE treated the Saturn , almost like EDGE was being paid by SONY. Still I guess the PS/PS2 fan make up the a lot of EDGE fanbase and so EDGE can?t upset the sheep and lose sales, Its clear as day with EDGE response to SONY PS3 clams and E3 footage that this is case .
And to mark down the likes of VF, GOW II , GRAW II for ofering more of the same, yet to continually give Pro Evo series nines out of ten (when Evolution is in the tiles) takes the piss , much like EDGE reviews these days . EDGE should become a MP, they are up there with the best MP when it comes to double standards and Hypocrisy

I just love plugging through their reviews, reaching the end without knowing what the hell they're talking about half the time. Back to Foucault and Derrida for an easier read.
If they've marked GOW2 down because it's 'more of the same' I'll be more than a little cross. And a 6 for Rogue Galaxy is just taking the piss.

I wish they would ask Phil Harrison on Sony Europe some questions like. Why is Europe so late with PS3, you have made it cheaper for you to build and then charge more money and don't give Europe the option of a 20GB vers?? Or did I miss him answering these questions previously? They seem to be ever so PS3 excited in this issue judging by the front cover and Editor piece. I don't mind them being excited as I am, but there are some issues with PS3 e.g. price that they seem to be over looking sometimes.
As for VF5 score you know they won't have time to get to grip with the nuances of it. Everyone knows how good it is so in some ways does it matter what score they give it.
